I feel as though I’ve lost you. You say you haven’t forgotten, but I can see you fading away. Can’t you remember the excitement and the danger of it all? Do you recall the times we ran away into the night without making a single sound? What about the times we held onto each other because our worlds were both falling apart? What did that mean to you? What do I mean to you? What does your new life mean to you? Are you enjoying your life away from home? Do your new friends go on adventures at midnight with you like I used to? I’m sure they do. Actually, I know they do. I know because you told me. When you told me, I looked into your eyes and realized that you were gone.
