The crowd in front of the gate was much bigger than Sam expected. Marvin as soon as he reached the gate got out thanking Sam.

“I will get off here. Thank you for your help. I am afraid I can't let you in with me. You will have to wait to get an entry."

Saying his thanks, Marvin rushed to the gate. The people of the respective towns can enter theirs using their id. Marvin was allowed in through a parallel gate.

Soon it was Sam's turn to get his cargo checked. With his merchant identity, Sam was able to get through the gates without much hassle.

Once he entered the city, an older lady in her late sixties approached him.

"You must be Marvin." She introduced herself as Silvia. Soon, he found out that she too was from another plain summoned by another God.

After a few minutes of talks, Silvia asked about the salts sacks. Sam had four sacks with him to pass over. Looking over the remaining bunch of hides in the cart Silvia said, "I will introduce you to Gustav. He is a merchant specialized in animal goods."

Thanking her for the trade and info Sam left to the business district looking for Gustav. His shop was in the third lane. There were heaps of different skin, pelts wool and hide processed and stocked inside.

Sam went in and introduced himself.

"Animal hide? We do need it but only if it's in good condition. Most of my customers are into premium stuff."

Gustav was a bit displeased looking at my Rank D merchant card. After going through the stocks Sam sold them off for 21 copper each. This made Sam a bit happy.

Gustav wasn't one for chatting. As soon as the business was over he went back to his office setting Sam off. Real tired from the journey, Sam went to the outer area looking for an inn.

Soon he was sleeping soundly on a comfy bed.

"Brat, you seem well off without my help already. Get up and find my temple. You can pick up your stuff in there." Yama appeared in his dream again.

"Can't you just give it to me now?” Sam was annoyed.

”You need to register at my church before I can give you anything." After a short pause, " I still have few works left before my year off. So make it fast."

The dream ended but Sam didn't wake up. He slept till the next morning.

Waking up after a full night sleep, Sam felt fresh. After a quick bath, he left for Silvia's shop. She was in the back making potions.

"Ma'am, it's me Sam." Sam was ever polite in front of this old woman.

"Sam? What brings you here?"

" I need to visit Yama's temple in the city."

" Yama's temple? It's outside the eastern gate. Ten minutes walk."

Thanking her Sam left towards the eastern gate. There were many people crowded in the eastern part of the city. This area was mostly for peasants and lower society. You could even find grey markets if you looked hard enough.

Soon, Sam was outside the gate. A large house with an odd eerie feeling was visible in the distance.

Like Sylvia said, in ten minutes sharp he arrived at the front of the mansion. It was old and classy. Entering the front gate, he was greeted by a maid.

"Welcome to the sleeping mansion. Please follow me."

The entire household was empty except for the one maid. Soon they entered the mansion and arrived in front of an ebony door. "Please wait" maid stood straight in front of the door and announced.

"Master, the champion arrived."

'Champion?'

"Come in" a very ancient sound echoed from inside.

Maid gestured towards Sam and proceeded to open the door wide.

Inside a man who looked to be in the late thirties, wearing a black suit stood watching Sam. Sam instantly recognized Yama.

"Sir, I am here."

"We meet again."

They both kept staring at each other. Then breaking the awkwardness, Yama said.

"Right, your system is ready. You just need to drop a drop of blood in the chalice and it will get implanted into your head."

Yama extended a chalice towards him along with a picker. Sam without much thought pricked his figure and let a drop of blood fall into the chalice. Second after, a strong pain spread across his forehead.

After a few seconds, Sam opened his eyes again. Yama looked at him in the eyes.

Still gazing at the front gate Sam stood there gazed for a few seconds. There were still lines floating in front of his eyes.

Sam knew exactly how to bring up the interface. It had a translucent background. There on it appeared all the details available for him to see.

Sam, who was pleased and ready to move along, rushed back to the eastern gate. As soon as he stepped out the gate of the mansion, a new message popped up at the corner of his eyes.
