I spent about --a week agonizing where they would be located. I ended up finding stuff about the area between West and North Sumatra that was never covered in Geography or History class. When you live in Indonesia you’re gonna be born on one of the many, many islands in our archipelago and you tend to think Indonesia is just your island, when it’s so big and you can never fully understand it as a country or as a concept.

Also this is literally the stuff of nightmares for me. My family used to loved to do roadtrips where you cross between towns, six, eight, ten or even longer hours but getting stuck between cities in the middle of nowhere?...oof.
