To most people making 10 silver in three hours would be impossible. To Sam, it felt that it was barely doable. He went back to the merchant district looking for a guild quarters.
There was a sub-branch of the legendary merchant guild in the district. With his employee badge, he was allowed entrance. Sam went through the job board. In it, there were a few that paid out a few hundred coins in commissions.
Sam ran his eyes through the list and found two that were suitable for him. One was a caravan transfer of goods to the Capital city. The other was for a working hand with expertise for transferring stocks to the local stores.
Since the time was limited Sam chose to apply for the local job. The caravan transfer to the capital would require a lot more preparation. Sam requested the assistant to register for the job and he was asked to approach a warehouse in lane 8.
With nothing better to do, Sam left for the lane. The entire area was filled with warehouses for different guilds. Most were locked down with leasing details described outside.
As soon as Sam reached the desired warehouse, he saw there were more than 18 carts worth of goods waiting for him. With an excited expression, he went in looking for the person in charge.
"You were sent in by the guild? Why is a rank D doing local trades?" A woman in the early twenties asked after examining his badge. Normally high ranking merchants would not take up local transfers. Only Ranks F and E would pick up these tasks.
With 18 carts Sam was asked to send it to various locations for each cart. He could also request aids but will have to pay by him selves. An aid would cost 10 copper coins per hour. The remuneration was only 20 silver for the Sam since this was a local job.
Sam was almost running out of time and opt to take aids. He hired 18 aids and give each one a cart and send them to their destinations. This was much faster and easier for Sam. Most people wouldn't be doing this as it took out too much of commission.
Of the six that had to leave town, Sam had to hire other merchants for each cart. This cost him another silver for each cart. With the help of aids and the Rank F merchants, Sam was able to finish the first quest that the system asked barely.

Please select an available secondary class.
A list of classes was displayed for Sam to pick from. Amongst them, all the typical fighting classes were greyed out.
'Looks like I can't pick up a fighting class'
The few classes that excited Sam were treasure hunter, explorer, scholar and priest. Although not superior in fighting these classes allowed players to use weapons. They also can along with class-specific abilities.
Scholar has a learned ability which helps him to learn skills from other classes. Explorer can use identify to appraise new items. The priest was a classic healer. Treasure hunters had an innate lucky charm.
Sam picked the treasure hunter as his secondary class. This not only gave him the abilities to use weapons, but it also came with a lucky charm. For a merchant, luck was extremely important.

There was a huge overhaul to the system with the addition of the new job class.
'Looks like I need to complete more quest.'
With one quest yet to complete he left for the merchant guild to look for more contracts available.
Getting a quest for more than 25 silver was hard. Most of them required the merchant to have a Rank C or above. A few others require the merchants to put forth a down payment.
Looking through he found one that looks a bit descent.
The contract was to accompany a large caravan to the western port city, Along. The cargo was meant to be shipped somewhere else and there were enough guards to protect it. The job required a merchant who can also use a weapon for additional security.
The contract was for 50 silver and the trip was meant to last for 6 days. Along was to the north-west of the province. The cargo must be heavy to have a long transfer time.
Since Sam already had close to 70 silver and a Rank D badge he was allowed to own two servants. Cheapest is to hire merchandise daily. A better but safer investment was to buy slaves. They were cheaper in the long run.
Before accepting the new contract at the merchant guild reception, Sam went to the Eastern market in otto. He had already seen several slave merchants in the market. Soon he was in front of one such shop.
Contrary to the expectations there were no cages in the shop. A few slaves both men and women were either sleeping at the back or just roaming around. Some were just chatting with each other.
Seeing the happy environment contrary to common sense, Sam was a bit curious. Soon he understood when he saw the strict laws.
The owner was forced to make sure the slaves have enough food and a proper shelter. Also, it's not possible to use violence without reason against slaves. The slave contract automatically gets nullified by the world contract system if those happen. This made for a few people to opt to become slaves by choice.
Walking around Sam saw his ideal slave girl. She was pleasant to look at as well as have enough business knowledge. She cost him 30 silver. Getting a bodyguard for 40 silver was pretty high. The man had almost reached level 2. It was almost worth it.
With the two new slaves at his either side, he left for the merchant guild to pick up his contract.
The details of the two slaves were further added to the system.
