I fought for weeks. That one night I spent with Jaylene gave me strength, or so I thought. My spear had trained me, and using it felt like an instinct.
"Destiny. It's almost time." My mother whispered. It was four in the morning, and I was about to leave to kill the demon king's only son. To make it more clear, demon kings have children every 987 years and they die after 1000 of them. This was the thousandth year of Dominic's life, and his son was to be claimed king of the demons.
Demon's trick humans into becoming one of them, and after they're turned they go insane and kill. We call them rabid demons. Demons that are born are called pure demons, meaning they are fully conscious and sane. The demon king's ability is to convert humans to demons, along with other abilities that they're born with. The plan was to kill the demon king and let their empire collapse, but that didn't go as planned.
"Bye Destiny... I know you can do it." Jaylene ensured me, but deep down, I was scared as hell.
"Farewell. I'll see you again someday." I responded. "Tell Victoria... I love her..." I then went out of sight. As I arrived at the demon castle, the first of their servants flew at me with their bat-like wings. I dodged them and split their insides open. I ran inside to their castle where Dominic was giving his last speech before his son turned 13.
I ran across the auditorium seating, waving my spear as I went. All of their blood spilling on my clothes, as I tried to look away. Almost the whole audience was dead and the king escaping. I ran down the hallway and up the staircase. I opened the door and witnessed the demon king kissing his child goodbye and admitting his defeat.
"Shit, what's happening?" I screamed.
"I'm sorry son, I'll have to go now," Dominic shouted to his child.
"What-" I stuttered. "What are you doing!?" I screeched. Then, my world changed forever.
