Matthew: That was weird. I stopped him because he looked blurry. Everything else looked sharp but him. It came into focus when I raised my glasses but everything else became blurry, like what I usually see without my glasses. And his eyes were yellow. That’s definitely different. And I’m pretty sure he electrocuted me just then. Maybe he’s experiencing something similar to what’s happening to me right now. I’ll ask him about it later.
Dan: That was definitely strange. I don’t think I heard what the minister said to him though. But it’s not too far a leap to think that he might have gained some kind of power too. And if the two of us got powers, does that mean the rest of the group got some as well. But why are we the only two displaying any? I know Matt is pretty studious about scripture, but I don’t really know much else about his spirituality. It’s definitely possible that he can use spiritual energy as well. I’ll have to talk to him and find out how experienced he is with it.
Cade heard everything. But he knew they weren’t saying anything out loud. Their mouths weren’t moving. But he definitely heard their voices in his head. And it only lasted a few seconds. It started when they touched. But why? Could he hear people’s thoughts? No that’s crazy. He tried to listen in again to some people around him but couldn’t hear anything. That’s freaky. Why did it only work then? Wait, how do I know I just didn’t imagine that? But why would I imagine that? They were saying stuff I knew nothing about. And to think about it, I don’t really understand what they were talking about. Maybe I should just forget it. Yeah, no use in thinking too hard on this.
The rest of the service wrapped up pretty quickly. The pastor of the church came back up and had a few words before Eli’s father returned and closed the service with a prayer. The ministers came down from the pulpit and started shaking people’s hands and talking to them. Everyone got up and started moving about. Dan started walking up to Eli’s father. It was the polite thing to do to go speak with the ministers after the service, him being one and all. Eli followed closely behind. There was a small line of people waiting to get to Rev. Grant. Dan waited patiently until it was his turn, making light conversation with Eli in the meantime. He learned that Eli also couldn’t see his yellow eyes, confirming to him that only he could see them. He reached up and shook Rev. Grant’s hand when the other people were done greeting and congratulating him on his sermon. “Thanks for the encouragement,” started Dan. “I’m pretty sure all of us will take it to heart.” “No problem young man,” Rev. Grant stated. He leaned down slightly to whisper in Dan’s ear. “And might I say, the yellow eyes look a little strange. But somehow, it fits you. Stay blessed, angel.”
Dan just stared ahead in confusion. He could see them. He could see my eyes. What does that mean? He said that he is pretty attuned to spiritual things. Maybe only people with a strong spiritual sense can see them? That would make sense. But if it’s a spiritual thing, why do they not return normal when I stop focusing on spiritual energy like the lightning in my hands? Could it be that because I’m always so open to the spiritual realm naturally now that I’m always channeling some level of spirit energy? Like maybe because I’ve become so permanently attuned to the spiritual realm that just my natural level of spirt power is enough to… “H-h-h-hey Dan. You gone mo-move anytime soon?” Eli joked. Dan shook out of his thoughts and noticed that he had just been standing there not doing anything. “Oh yeah, sorry. Got lost in thought for a second there.” Eli’s dad chuckled. “He’s probably got a lot on his mind E. You all should after what happened tonight.” “Yeah well, I-I-I did think it was a little out of the ordinary. And I do fe-feel a little different. Can’t really put my finger on how though.” “Give it time. And prayer. I’m pretty sure God will reveal His purpose for tonight in due time.” “Yeah, I guess so.”
