Letting out a sigh I walk over tugging on his arm sleeve. He stopped looking
down at me with a raised brow.
"Come on it wasn't that bad? Please don't be mad at me?"
Looking up to his face I give him the sad puppy eyes. Kai has used this on me
several times. Hopefully it would work on him. He let out a little grumble
under his breath looking defeated. Yes, I finally won a fight with him.
"You're a pain in the ass sometimes Agatha. I hope you know that."
I speed up my walking pace then turn slightly back sticking out my tongue.
"Yup but you would already be lost without me."
Kai laughs, catching up with ease to me. He ruffled my hair running ahead of
me. Jerk knew I didn't like running. I followed behind him at a slower pace
while he was laughing at me. After a while he stopped in his tracks. As
catching up the sight before us was horrifying. A wagon of travelers had been
attacked.
Kai grabs my hand making sure to keep me close. Walking down the path
slowly there remains all over the place. Next to my feet was a woman's leg
torn to shreds. When turning my head slightly to the side I see a small child.
It broke my heart to see her dead clutching another's hand for dear life. It
had to be someone very close to her. Pulling my hand from Kai, I walk over to
the child closing her eyes.
"Whoever did this wasn't here too long ago. Her blood still hasn't dried."
Kai sniffs the air looking around the area. He couldn't find anyone close to
them which meant they traveled ahead. Getting up I walk over touching Kai's
arm.
"We have to bury them or something."
He gave me a reluctant look but decided to help me. He gathered all the
bodies together making sure to get the random body parts from the side of
the path. Once all the bodies and parts were gathered he poured a vial of his
fuel starter onto them. I closed my eyes as I heard the click of his knife being
pulled out. He was going to use it with the flint to start a fire. The heat from
the fire soon touched my skin letting me know the job was done.
A touch on my arm let me know it was time to leave. I didn't open my eyes till
Kai leaned his face down to mine. His warm breath could be felt on my lips.
"We are far enough away now."
Couldn't he have just told me to open my eyes? I waited for a few moments
hoping he would move back but he stayed. Opening my eyes I can see his
green eyes staring back at me.
"Okay would you move already?"
He smirked leaning a little closer.
"Why are you scared now Agatha?"
Using all my strength I hit him clear in the stomach. This caused him to
wince moving back.
"Serves you right for taunting me you asshole."
Saying those words I walked ahead of him slightly not wanting to turn to see
the flames. Kai walks up grabbing my arm pulling me close to his body. At
first I thought it was him getting revenge but there was something in the
shadows. It was watching us closely. Kai held onto me as jumping back some
seeing a person come from the shadows. They were covered in dirt wearing
clothes a beggar would be seen wearing.
The person stared at us with a smile to their lips. In their hands was a small
vial that had a swirling fluid in it.
"You shouldn't have pissed off the wolf clan."
The person dropped the vial as a bright light engulfed the area. If it hadn't
been for my magic core, Kai and I would have both been dead. When the light
faded everything within fifteen feet of our area had been wiped out. It was
like a barren landscape. We landed back on the ground to see that the ground
was scorched.
"I didn't think the wolf clan would be this petty. What should we do Kai?"
He kept holding onto me just letting out a sigh. His expression was almost
hurt but there was so much anger in his eyes as well.
"This time they went too far these people were innocent. If they are willing
to kill this many people to lay a trap, then we will have to deal with them."
I place my hand to his chest just wanting to show comfort. He looks down
giving me a faint smile. This had to be very hard for him being a half wolf.
Although seeing how his clansmen always treated him was it truly so hard to
take them down a peg or two? I always wondered if it was his mother or
father who had been a member of the wolf clan.
He finally let go of me as I stumbled a little getting my balance. The ground
was hard to stand on as the terrain was messed up. I stand still for a moment
before letting out an angry yell. Kai jumped a little surprised by my actions;
he'd never heard me scream out. After yelling I take in a few good deep
breaths to calm my nerves.
"Okay, I want you to take me to the wolf clan."
He walked over to me just placing a hand on my head.
"Alright, if we do this there is no turning back."
What did he expect me to change my mind? These clans treated anyone of
mixed blood like filth. Let alone how all the clans treated those of the primate
clan like food or slaves. This world needed something done to it, even if it
took me attacking a major clan to start it.
