Yes Belle, there is a very good explanation as to why Beast is comfortable with you and not many other people.
Belle knows him better than anyone else I would say, she wouldn’t believe it without proof and she won over Rapunzel, who now don’t believe it either :)
Alas, he is a quiet menacing guy who have been seen shouting at Belle and so people will be inclined to believe it. For now.
