You have decided to see Carlos at the park. As the school bell rings and everyone runs out to the bus stop, you take out your phone to text your mom. You have to make an excuse for coming home late. You tell her that you are staying late to work on homework with a friend, and then put your phone back into your pocket. You begin to walk out of the classroom, and can see the bus rolling away. You go down the hall, and look at the lockers. You wonder if you will be pushed inside one at some point. As you amble out of the school, you stare in the direction of the park and begin to walk towards it. It takes you over 10 minutes to get to the park, but you get there eventually. You see Carlos across the way, leaning on a lamppost, and you begin to doubt your decision making skills. But you can’t back out now, you were already there. You slowly walk over to where Carlos is. He looks you in the eyes and says “You’re late.” You nod, in an attempt to not upset him anymore, but you can see in his eyes that he was already very angry. “I told you not to be late.” He says. You begin to worry. You upset him, and now you were going to pay. But why? What did you ever do to him? How could you have upset him by just existing? You begin to get angry. You did nothing to deserve this. You can see out of the corner of your eye that he has begun to walk toward you. You haven’t done anything wrong, so why should you be punished? You start to feel a tingling feeling in the tips of your fingers, but this doesn’t stop you from being angry. You suddenly jump up into the air and yell “I NEVER DID ANYTHING WRONG!”. Everything goes silent.
