It was a beautiful Autumn day in the nation of Honimress and the newly crowned queen and her 'boy toys' as most citizens and their families liked to call the two men she was with were on an outing to enjoy the beautifully cool weather and the equally beautiful colored leaves that were falling from the trees. The three seemed quite happy, joking and chatting amicably. Danielle walked between Peter and Finn, her hands intertwined with theirs.
As they walked, Finn spoke up. "Man, I always love walking out here in the fall... the leaves are always so pretty." Peter and Danielle nodded in agreement with what he said.
"It is... still, nothing beats fall on the farm. Since it's harvest season, we put on a bit of a celebration as we go and pick the stuff that was planted earlier in the year. The whole family would come over and we'd sing songs and joke around and at the end of the day we'd have a bit of a feast. It was amazing." Peter spoke with a grin.
"Well, maybe one of these years, we could drop by and visit during that little celebration... or maybe we could hold one of our own and invite your guys' families to participate." Danielle suggested with a smile.
"I don't know, hon... my family really isn't happy with the relationship we have going on... I don't think they'd be happy with us just turning up or with us inviting them to a mock celebration." Peter responded.
"Yeah, and I doubt my family would be too happy with the invite, either. They practically disowned me and kicked me out of the house when they found out that I was going to be in a relationship with you two..." Finn admitted.
A bit of a dejected, yet determined look came across Danielle's face in response to what her husbands had said. "Well, in that case, we'll just throw a bit of a celebration of our own! No need to invite them! And we can do our own thing!" she responded, a grin soon forming on her face. Finn and Peter let out soft laughs in response to what Danielle had said.
"Well, I suppose it could be fun. Though, what could we be celebrating?" Peter asked, a slightly teasing smile crossing his face.
"Do we need a reason? We can celebrate just to celebrate the fact we're all together." Danielle retorted, a bright smile crossing her features.
"Well, that sounds like the perfect reason to celebrate to me." Peter responded, pressing a gentle kiss on Danielle's cheek.
"Same here." Finn responded, also pressing against a kiss against Danielle's cheek.
Danielle grinned as her husbands kissed her cheek. "Well, then, what do you say we set up that celebration tonight? I think we have some food that's going to go bad soon, anyways, and I believe some drinks as well. Maybe we could also hold a bit of a bonfire, make some s'mores?"
"Sounds like a plan." Peter and Finn responded, bright smiles on their faces. Both seemed quite excited for their little celebration.
With that out of the way, the three continued their walk, just continuing to enjoy the beautiful fall weather. They also continued to talk, mostly about setting up their little celebration. Though, as they walked and passed by people on the same path as them, they would often get cold stares, though the three ignored them, just to happy to be spending time with each other to care.
However, two women whispering is what had finally caught Danielle's attention.
"How disgusting. Honestly, it's enough that she was able to marry her boy toys in the first place, but now she's parading them around like they're her prized pets or something?" the first woman whispered to her companion.
"I know. She's such a whore. She should have just chosen one, but she just had to be greedy. I wouldn't be surprised if they get divorced within the year because she's cheating on them." the other woman whispered in response.
The plush-like deer ears on Danielle's head gave an annoyed flick as she turned to face the women. "Excuse me? You do realize I'm perfectly capable of hearing what you're saying. I do not appreciate you talking about me or my husbands in that manner." she spoke, her eyes narrowed at them.
The women glared back at her. "Well, if you weren't such a whore and just chose one husband like a normal person, then we wouldn't have a reason to badmouth you or them, now would we?" the first woman retorted.
Gritting her teeth, Danielle was about to respond, but was interrupted by Peter and Finn pulling her away.
"C'mon, hon. We don't need to worry ourselves with people who don't respect us. Let's just keep walking." Peter spoke, shooting a glare towards the two women. The two women simply scoffed in response before going on their way.
Once the women were out of sight and out of earshot, Danielle let out a soft sigh. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have let what they said get to me... gods, only a month into being queen and I'm already getting into confrontations with citizens!"
"Sweetheart, it's okay... trust me, we were angry, too... and not to mention, you've just lost your parents, so you've got a lot on your mind. Those women were practically asking for a confrontation with how they were talking." Finn spoke, wrapping her in a soft hug, Peter soon joining in on it.
"Yeah, they were. We just pulled you away so they couldn't spread any rumors about you being violent if you attacked them. We know how much of a spitfire you can be. We just don't need you making headlines in the papers for causing fights." Peter added with a soft laugh.
Danielle let out a soft laugh at what Peter had said before a saddened look crossed her face. "I just wish my parents hadn't gone to their deathbeds not even understanding why I wanted to be with both of you... it would've been nice to have had some acceptance and closure from them for our relationship..." she spoke with a sigh.
"I know, honey... but you can't do anything about it now... there's no sense on dwelling on what could have been. Let's just finish up the walk and we can head back home and spend some time together, just the three of us. Alright?" Finn suggested, receiving a nod from Danielle and Peter.
With that, the three continued their walk in a comfortable, slightly sad silence with Peter and Finn each wrapping an arm around Danielle in a comforting manner as they walked. Eventually, the three came to a pile of leaves which caused Danielle to smile slightly.
"Gods, I remember when I was a kid, I would always sneak away and jump into piles of leaves like these. My parents would always get so mad and lecture me on how princesses weren't supposed to act like that whenever they found me." she spoke with a soft laugh.
"Well, why don't you go jump in them now? I mean, you are the queen now, so you get to determine how you want to act." Finn suggested with a smile.
Peter nodded in agreement. "Yeah, everyone needs time to be able to unleash their inner kid." he added.
Grinning, Danielle responded "Well, I guess I can't argue with that logic. C'mon, let's all go jump into them! It'll be fun!" before practically dragging Peter and Finn over to the leaf pile.
With little hesitation, the three jumped into the leaf pile, all bursting into laughter as they did so. The two stayed there for a little while, playfully throwing the leaves at each other and just all around having a good time before deciding to head home and get their little celebration for just being together started.
Upon reaching the castle, the three immediately set to work looking for some food that was close to expiring as well as the drinks that Danielle had mentioned. They figured that they could give away whatever they didn't eat to those who may need a meal for the night.
As Danielle helped heat up and prepared the food that they were going to have, a bit of a nauseous look crossed her face and, before she knew it, she was running to the bathroom and fortunately reaching the toilet before getting sick. Thinking back slightly, a realization hit her. But just to be sure, there were some tests she needed to take.
A few minutes later, a practically glowing Danielle had made her way out of the restroom and over to the dining room where Finn and Peter were setting up the small feast for their little celebration.
Peter was the first one to notice her. "Ah, there you are, hon! You alright? You ran off awful quick and didn't look to good."
Danielle nodded in response. "I'm fine, dear. Just needed to freshen up real quick." she responded, a bright smile on her face.
"Well, that's good. Now, how about we get this wine open and have a good time?" Finn suggested.
Danielle let out a soft laugh. "Actually... I think I'm going to have to pass up on the offer of wine." she responded, that smile still on her face.
Finn frowned a bit. "Are you sure, sweetheart? You don't usually pass up on the chance to have a glass of wine..."
"I'm sure, honey. I've actually got a really good reason to pass up on it now..."
Peter and Finn shared confused looks. "What is it?" they both asked, absolutely confused as to what Danielle's reasoning could be.
Still smiling brightly, Danielle revealed a positive pregnancy test, one of the many she had taken just to make sure that this was what was causing her nausea. "Well, because I found an actual reason for us to be celebrating together tonight..."
The three spent the rest of the night together in celebration of the hopes of their new addition.
