"Mom! Dad! Is it alright if I spend the night with Jasper and Norri tonight? They're holding a New Year's party and I wanna go if that's alright with you two." Cameron called out to her parents who were in the kitchen, preparing for a bit of a New Year's celebration of their own.

"Who's going to be at this party?" Cameron's dad called out in response.

"Oh, um, really just Jasper, Norri, their dad, and me. Maybe a couple of their dad's friends as well. They just wanted to invite me so they had someone their age around to hang out with."

"Alright, fine! Just be safe! No funny business with Jasper! We know you two are dating, but we don't need you getting pregnant at seventeen!" Cameron's father responded.

Cameron rolled her eyes. "We weren't planning to, dad! We're probably just gonna hang out together and play video games with Norri, anyways!" She had to bite back telling her parents that she wasn't even dating Jasper, mostly just pretending to in order to keep her parents off her back.

Sure, she did care for Jasper a lot and he cared for her, but they saw each other more as siblings than boyfriend and girlfriend. They were only keeping up this act for Cameron's sake so her parents would stop bothering her about finding a boyfriend. Cameron was planning to 'break up' with him for her parents to see once she moved out, just so she didn't have to keep the act.

Back to the moment at hand, Cameron had gone back into her room in order to prepare for the night. She grabbed some pajamas and clothes for tomorrow, not really bothering with any other essentials as she already had a little setup at Norri and Jasper's house due to staying overnight so often.

Once she had grabbed what she needed, she headed off, calling out a quick "Alright, I'm out! See you tomorrow, love you!" to her parents.

"Alright, be safe! Love you too! Give Norri and Jasper hugs from us!" Cameron's mother called out in response.

"I will!" Cameron responded, before heading out the door. Once she was outside, she let out a relieved sigh before making the trip to Norri and Jasper's house, just across the road from hers. Once there, she rang the doorbell, soon being greeted by Norri.

"Cam! You made it!" Norri exclaimed, wrapping Cameron in a warm, friendly hug that made Cameron blush just a little bit, though she did well to hide it.

"Yeah, luckily my parents let me come over. Though, of course, they assume that me and Jasper are gonna end the night with sex." Cameron responded, letting out a bit of an annoyed groan as she said the last part.

Norri wrinkled her nose. "Gross. They seriously need to lay off you, even if they think you and Jasper are dating. Though, you really do need to come clean to them eventually about, well... everything." she spoke, letting Cameron inside.

Cameron let out a soft sigh. "I know, but it's just... I'm scared... I don't know what they'll do if they find out that I'm not even into guys... I mean, I doubt they would even tolerate me hanging out with you and Jasper if they found out what your sexualities are, much less learning that their own daughter is one of 'those people' as they like to put it."

"Well, if you ever need a hand, just know that me and Jasper will be here for you, alright?" Norri said, smiling a bit at her friend. Cameron returned the smile and nodded in response.

"Okay, well, no time for moping any longer! We got a party to get ready for! Mind helping me find something to wear?" Norri asked, knowing a bit of a makeover session would help Cameron get her mind off things for a bit.

Cameron nodded excitedly. "Let's see what you've got." she responded, a wide grin on her face.

With that, the two headed over to Norri's room, rummaging through her closet for some nice clothes for her to wear. Eventually, they settled on a nice purple long sleeved blouse with light gray jeans and purple shoes.

Cameron had changed into the outfit she had packed for the party; a simple green long sleeved dress that went down to her knees with a pair of matching shoes. Once the two were dressed, Cameron helped Norri style her hair, simply making some loose curls out of it.

Once that was done, Cameron styled her own hair, deciding to just braid two thin pieces and band them together before putting them in the back of her hair.

Norri grinned at Cameron. "Man, we look good, don't we?" she asked, wrapping her friend in a hug. Cameron laughed a bit and nodded in agreement, doing her best to hide the blush that crept onto her face as she returned the hug.

"Yeah... all I need is a little makeup and I'll be good to go."

"Hey, once you do yours, can you help me do mine? You've always been better and doing blush." Norri asked, receiving a nod from Cameron as Cameron rummaged around for a bit before finding the makeup she had stored in Norri's room.

A little while later, both girls were ready, looking rather casual, yet still nice for the party. Though, Norri frowned a bit at Cameron. "You're covering your freckles."

"Huh? Oh, yeah... I think I just look better this way."

Norri pouted slightly, but responded "Alright. Though, I like you better with freckles. I think they're cute."

Cameron blushed a bit at this. "O-oh, you think so? W-well... u-um, maybe I'll uncover them, then... I'll be right back..." she spoke, darting into the restroom, emerging a few minutes later, this time with her freckles uncovered.

Norri let out a soft laugh. "You know, you didn't have to do that just because I thought your freckles were cute... but I'm happy you did."

Cameron blushed a bit, murmuring something that Norri couldn't quite make out. This caused Norri to let out another soft laugh. "Let's just get to the living room. Dad's friends should be here by now and Jasper's probably being tortured by their small talk."

This got a small laugh and a nod from Cameron, with them heading to the living room. Once Jasper caught sight of them, he immediately headed over.

"Man, it took you two long enough to get ready. You both look great, though." he spoke with a grin, wrapping the two in a hug.

"Oh, yeah? Well, it looks like you just woke up and slapped on some random clothes that seemed clean." Norri retorted teasingly, receiving a playful eyeroll from her brother. Cameron let out a soft laugh at the antics between the two.

"Anyways, how about we head to my room and play some Mario Party while we wait for the guests to clear out?" Jasper suggested. Cameron and Norri grinned and nodded in response.

"Hey dad, Cam, Norri and I are just gonna hang out in my room for a while, alright?" Jasper called out to his father.

"Alright, have fun you three."

With that, the three did just that, heading to Jasper's room with Jasper soon getting the game booted up. The three played for a little while, joking around with some playful bickering popping up every now and then, until a knock came on Jasper's door.

"I brought some snacks for you three. And we're gonna be setting off fireworks in a few minutes if you want to join." Jasper's father spoke once Jasper had paused the game and answered the door.

"Sounds good. We'll be right out, dad. And thanks for the snacks." Jasper responded with a grin. He then set the small tray of snacks on his nightstand before heading out front with Cameron and Norri.

They had watched fireworks be set off for a little while, with Jasper and Norri setting off a few as well, and played with sparklers for a bit before deciding to head back inside to continue their game. Though, once they had gotten inside, Cameron noticed the time.

"Man, it's already ten thirty? I guess time really does fly when you're having fun... you guys wanna finish up the round in Mario Party we have going before switching over to see the countdown to midnight?" she suggested, a smile on her face. Norri and Jasper nodded in response.

The three did just that, finishing their round of the game before switching over to a channel that was broadcasting a New Year's countdown. As the three watched, they ate the snacks that were brought, chatted, joked, and just had an all around good time.

As they continued to watch the broadcast, with the time nearing midnight, the three had cuddled up to each other, with Norri being in the middle of Cameron and Jasper. The three seemed quite content as they watched the clock tick down.

As the ten seconds to midnight was counted out, Cameron, Jasper, and Norri all joined in, their voices becoming more excited with each passing second.

Cameron wasn't sure how exactly it happened, but as the clock struck midnight, she had found her lips locked with Norri's. Once second the two had simply been cuddled up and counting down with Jasper, and the next, they sharing a New Year's Eve kiss.

The two held the kiss for a few seconds before pulling away, both blushing noticeably.

"U-um... I-I'm sorry... I... I don't even know how that happened..." Cameron squeaked out, burying her face in her hands.

"U-um, i-it's alright... I... I actually kinda liked it..." Norri admitted.

"Yeah, she's only been crushing on you for forever." Jasper piped up in a teasing tone.

"Jasper! Not helping!" Norri responded, her blush becoming more noticeable, despite her dark skin.

A shocked expression came over Cameron's face. "Y-you... you like me...?" she asked. Norri nodded in response.
