Some notes for this Ep:
-The first gene therapy approved in the US was for the treatment of young patients with B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia (https://tinyurl.com/yxkpcbtf).
-There are 6-7,000 known rare and genetic diseases, but likely many more. Nearly all genetic diseases are rare diseases, but not all rare diseases are genetic diseases (https://tinyurl.com/y2euqv9x)
In the not too distant future, gene editing becomes less about curing diseases, and instead focus shifts to creating "designer babies." The wealthy and privileged take advantage of these advanced technologies to create chimerical, fantastic, and wholly unique children. But years passed and the fad died out.... ....and the lost generation of genetically modified children find themselves reaching adulthood whilst the world shuns and discriminates against them.
