"So Eddie, enjoyed your conversation with your friend?"
"Yes, though that was the first time she communicated me in a comprehensive manner."
"Comprehensive manner?"
"She was prone keep her distance from me, often scurrying away when she's near proximity of me. I didn't know why since I didn't believe I did anything to exhort to how she behaved around to me, with the exception of today. Her smile that she used to greet customers seems to be tinted with fear when I faced her but seemed to lose that tint during our conversation, it seemed she became more comfortable, glowing, and have more of pep in her tone."
"Sound like Emma may like like you,"
"...I guess that could be the case, how do you know her name?"
"Her littlest brother came outside, he had me answer about what it's like for me to be a theatre director and event coordinator, and did I do to be able to be those positions. Pretty smart kid. Sometimes I forget curious small kids can be. Were you that occupied in talking to her to not notice?"
"I supposed I was."
"I don't think I've never seen you so invested in casual talk with a girl for that long before,"
"Really,"
"Yes,"
"Huh, I never noticed, well I think I have to more often since I hardly knew anyone here when I came. I couldn't rely on another chance that I'll meet up with another chatter box such as yourself to place another big opportunity land on my lap."
"Right," Maury said, looking back to when he saw Eddie napping on a metallic balcony of an apartment's fire escape. He was startled by the the stranger leaning near his window and apparently he woke the guy up into a mode of fight. A roughly patched up bag was swung at his head. It had something heavy but cushioned by what he believed to be clothes. Regardless the impact still serious hurt. He was surprised he didn't pass out or his jaw wasn't dislocated.
"What the fuck is your problem?!" Maury shrieked in pain as he try to crawl away.
"Oh I'm so sorry sir, I just forgot my keys and am waiting for my mom and dad to come back home," lied Eddie.
Maury paused, looking puzzled for a while until he said, "Your a new tenant here?"
"Mom, dad and I moved in very late. I think around midnight. I don't really remember since we were tired after such a long trip."
"How old are you? Are you going to go the community college nearby?"
"I intend on going?"
"What major store you pursuing?"
"I'm not sure,"
"Tell you what, I could show you a catalog I received when I attended college. May not be available to where you intend on going but it's better than nothing. Though sometimes its better do still put good effort in what you are doing despite no longer liking your major so you can keep up your GPA before you transfer. I could mentioned some unions too. I dropped out of school until I found a job I was more certain that I wanted to pursue. They really helped me with *blah blah blah blah blah blah*,"
"I'll admit I was excessive being a rant man while you were the blank 'uh huh' stinking gigantic kid who God knows how you got cranked out besides getting absurdly tall due to 'dear old dad,'" Maury said.
"Okay short stuff except his mouth, I was mostly agreeing with you because I was nervous before half zoning out."
"You were nervous, I was freaking out, I felt like a fish trying to flop away from getting mauled by a bear until I came to my senses," Maury said before he noticed his dog was chewing on the cup that had the whip cream. "Liana no, don't eat the plastic, eat this instead," Maury said as he wafted a burger in front of her. Maury was relieved that she didn't swallow any pieces of the trash before discarding it.
"Let's change the topic."
"Away from when you nearly got charged for murder,"
"I would prefer that, you're really going to meet up with a bunch of people you don't know personally so you all can experience a doggy family reunion?"
"I find it would be great for her to see her mother and siblings again plus I find it would be wonderful meet other kind people who also put in the effort to make this possible, especially one charming cheesy lady, Celine, who decided such a wonderful idea."
"Catching feelings for some you haven't met yet? Isn't that pretty risky?"
"Actually we knew each other for a while. The reason why she's a few states away is because she wants to be with her father since the doctor say he doesn't have much time to live."
"Oh, I'm sorry,"
"No, it's not your fault. You didn't know,"
"So what is she like?"
"She's a very good listener, with our conversations sometimes lasting for hours. We often don't care about what we're talking about too much, we still enjoy it and each others company. She's very active, she actually suggested me to adopt a pup from the same litter hence how I got Liana who sometimes drive me crazy but does know how to give me comfort especially when I need it. Celine is goofy too she usually find her strong hold being slap stick humor and making goofy sounds with her goofy beautiful face and soft gentle hands, and sometimes her adorable tookus too. I love her smile, how her eyes sparkle and contagious laughter. I can't help but ensure that happens as often as possible. I try to have some wit in my humor. I feel like I often miss but she say a miss can sometimes make an accident that can lead to humor before giving me a kiss. She so sweet that even with tooth decay I still very much crave her and she does make me feel good even getting me a delicious milkshake and renting some of my favorite movies to watch as we cuddle up together for, marking me feel better. *excessive lovey dovey rant*"
"Maury," Eddie said, "I need to get back to work."
"Oh I'm sorry I took over much of your break in the way I did,"
"It's okay, besides I'll see you later on your way to pick up the costumes after the customization is complete,"
"Yes you will," Maury said, "maybe I'll ask more than the tailoring of the costumes when I come back." They as they boxes up what's left of their lunch waved goodbye and went on their separate way.
Eddie remembering to deciding to take charge of his existence after he was given a broken old vintage sewing machine that looked like the one his mother used, and did so again when he felt a desire to make something personally his own.
'What's next?' Eddie thought.
