The Duke and his family left the room. Anastasiy tried to reorganize what little information he had to try to unravel the mystery of his accident. But he soon had to face the fact that he didn't know enough. The explosion could have had two causes. The first could have been an accident. Not very credible, but not impossible either. As for the second hypothesis, it was already much more probable. Clearly, his family was rich. It was therefore quite possible that someone had tried to attack him in his home to rob him. However, something had gone wrong and an explosion had taken place. Did the assailant attack him and, in order to defend himself, set off an explosion, knowing that someone would come to his rescue immediately? Unfortunately, Anastasiy could only theorize from what little information he had.
He was pulled out of his thoughts when he heard knocking at his door. After he had given his permission, Calogero entered, accompanied by another person. The newcomer arrived at the shoulders of the butler of the Dralyons and displayed a jovial smile, quite different from Calogero's austere expression.
"Young master, I present you Veronica, who will be your personal valet from this day until you wish it."
"Nice to meet you, Veronica. I apologize in advance, but I'm going to have a lot of questions."
"There's absolutely no need to apologize, young master! It's my job to answer your questions and to assist you in your daily life!"
"I see. In that case, I'm counting on you."
"I won't disappoint you, young master!"
And indeed, Veronica didn't disappoint him. Over the course of the week, the young valet was able to respond perfectly to every one of his requests. His knowledge of the duchy helped Anastasiy greatly, even if nothing really prepared him for the shock about the importance of his family.
The Duchy of the Dralyon took care of the territory of Draehion. In itself, this was nothing special, but the territory of Draehion had a special history, and with it, the Dralyons. Indeed, the first Dralyon, Eamon, was nothing more than the brother of the First Emperor of the Empire of Draeleon, then called the Empire of Lirdiff. When the Empire was created, Eamon decided to settle on the other side of the Draediff mountain range to protect his brother and his people. Indeed, the greatest danger wasn't from the Kingdom of Fabel, from which they had just separated, but from the continent of Pasias, which lay to the east of the newly created Empire. The continent of Pasias was an extremely dangerous place because of the total absence of intelligent beings. The only known inhabitants of this desolate land were monsters, some weak, others strong. But this had not stopped the first Dralyon who set out to conquer the lands that had fallen into the hands of monsters. Pushing back the waves of creatures one after the other, he considerably enlarged the Empire and perhaps he could have conquered the entire continent of Pasias if his progress hadn't been stopped by a sea of black sand, but most of all by the Lord of this land: Günel the Dragon.
"Eamon's army fought bravely against this being of overwhelming power, but that wasn't enough. The dragon remained insensitive to all their attacks, whereas a single breath was enough to reduce half of the army to nothing. But the soldiers weren't discouraged and didn't retreat. The reason? Eamon, who, despite his wounds, continued to get up again. The battle went on for a long time until a miracle happened."
"A miracle?"
"Your ancestor's sword dislodged a scale from the dragon! Both the army and the dragon were surprised, so much so that the dragon stopped fighting and burst out laughing. Then he said, "Human, you have accomplished what no being has ever been able to do before. We dragons are the only ones who can hurt ourselves like this. But today, you have proved that you, beings whose time is as ephemeral as the insects, can be as dangerous as we are. Human, for this act, I offer you the name "Dralyon" and I authorize you to wear my image". Then Günel flapped his immense wings and disappeared forever."
Hearing the end of the story, Anastasiy let his gaze fall on the Dralyon coat of arms. A dragon figure holding a sun in its mouth confronted his gaze, defying Anastasiy to lower his eyes. But Dralyon blood flowed inside him and a predatory smile appeared on his lips.
