One of the servants in my castle handed me my plated breakfast. Eggs, a biscuit with jam, bacon, juice, and sausage. The meals that were made were at the highest quality. I wondered how the chefs were chosen, but it didn't really matter.
"Thank you," I told the man while he bowed and walked away. My father shortly arrived at the oblong table and sat down.
"Victor," He spoke. "Are you heading out again?" I'm pretty sure my father already knew the answer, but he still asked.
"Yes, I am." I examined my dad's face looking to see some sort of emotion, there wasn't any.
"Enjoying the town?" My father asked.
"Oh, yes. It is lovely. All of the vendors are amazing and the town is always clean. You run a good kingdom."
"Ah, well I have to keep it nice for the upcoming king." I was the only child so the kingdom was immediately going to be passed on to me. I never really thought about becoming King and what it would be like. Probably because I was told when I was 7 so I never thought about it. "Of course seeing that you will be turning 18 soon it would be best to look for a bride, am I right?" That was another thing.
I was never interested in marrying. I figured I could rule the kingdom by myself and wouldn't need a queen with me. Girls in general did not interest me. I never felt the need to be accompanied by a woman. Basically, I didn't want to get married.
"Is that so?" My dad nodded his head.
"Many princesses from different kingdoms have found interest in you. It's only a matter of time before we have to choose." You are born into a Blue family. To keep the purebred of a Blue you must have a child with another Blue meaning you must marry a Blue. It's a rule of thumb, never in history have you seen anything different.
When I was young my family warned me of the dangers of mixing colors. They told me it would create a monster of a human. It was all a hoax. If a green were to have a child with a purple, you would not get some hybrid color from the two. The dominant color would be what the child inherits. Any color having a child with a Green would just resort to a Green baby. That is why there are more Green than any color. It ranks from Green, Yellow, Orange, Purple, Blue, and Red.
There are hardly any Reds. Mostly because no one wants to get involved with a Red and if you were a Red, you wouldn't have a child. Red makes up the majority of the crime so they don't have time for children, again, it's just a rule of thumb.
"Well of course they would be. I'm devilishly handsome." It was true, I was indeed handsome. I got most of my looks from my father who was a "ladies man" when he was younger.
"Of course you are." I cleaned my plate and chugged my juice before saying goodbye to my father. "Victor, you be careful out there." My dad warned me.
"I understand." I met with Charles who saw me to my ride out of the castle.
"40 minutes," Charles told me. "Just don't make me regret those extra ten minutes." I smiled brightly at my orange-haired guard then entered the small car that escorted me off of the hill.
When leaving the car I scanned my perimeter looking for that one green-headed boy.
"Have you seen a commoner, about yay high, hazel eyes, skinny—" I stopped, realizing I was describing every green boy around. "I've been seen with him before," I told a purple who was standing not so far from my estate.
"No, Prince Victor. I have not encountered such boy." The guard bowed as I left making me search the town.
"Hi, does a boy named Mykie stay at your hotel?" I asked a skinny Orange-hair man who was slouching over his beverage. Once he caught sight of me, the man immediately fixed his posture and began to scan through a book full of the guests.
"M-Mykie? I'm sorry young prince, I don't seem to have a Mykie here." He told me, sounding very apologetic.
"That's fine," I told him then proceeded to the next hotel and then the next one until I found the right hotel.
"I'm looking for a Mykie," I told the slim orange hair girl who sat at the front desk of a rundown hotel.
"Oh! Mykie! Yes, yes. He is here. Would you like to visit him?" Mandy, said the golden plate at the desk, asked me.
"Oh, yes I would like to." Mandy dug through some keys then handed me a faded bronze one.
"Room 137. He should be there. I haven't seen him come out of the room today." We said our goodbyes before I walked around the halls of the rooms. It seemed that most of the rooms were empty or the guests were still asleep.
"I hope Mykie isn't asleep," I whispered to myself as I found his room. I placed my ear to the door as if I could hear him through it, but I couldn't. Instead, I put the key in the lock and jiggled it open. "Mykie! I was looking around town for you and I finally found your hotel! Mandy let me in!" I stopped dead in my tracks and stared at Mykie who looked like a deer in headlights. "Mykie...you're a—"
