< Klyde >
I rested my head on the side of the giant tree I call home as I sat on one of its gigantic roots. I have been living alone for most of my life. And I have been living alone since as long as I can remember.
I do not know how I got here nor where I came from. My life is a big wreck honestly. If it wasn’t for my guardian, I would’ve died inside the forest years ago.
"Olivia must be here soon," I said to myself with a hopeful smile. Olivia was a hybrid witch and fairy who raised me amongst these woods. She owns this very special tree in the middle of a small meadow, in the heart of the forest.
It is protected with her spell so that the place I call home is hidden from others. Olivia said other creatures have hunted me ever since I was a boy, so she kept me here.
And I believe her with all my heart.
She only comes on Sundays to bring me food and supplies though. On other days, she's out doing her job. She always reminded me to play within the barrier she set up.
Yet, I broke her only rule.
The afternoon breeze kept tickling my skin. The wind is strong today. Like something big is gonna happen. Like one of those novels that I've read.
Being isolated from the outside world is tough. All I could do is read books and more books. I could only imagine what a city looks like, what pollution smells like, and what love feels like.
I was in awe when I saw a beautiful butterfly and followed it. It was white and it had crescent shapes all over its tiny wings. The temptation was strong that I let myself chase it like a little child.
I was having fun chasing the white insect that I lost track of area. Without thinking thoroughly, I passed the barrier Olivia created.
My body felt like it was pulled away and I found myself under the shades of a roofed forest. The trees were massive. I looked like I was a little worm compared to their enormous size.
As I stepped back, I felt myself getting pulled again and found myself in the meadow. I never knew this meadow was hidden in the middle of the forest.
But then again, what do I know?
The sensation was weird yet eerily good, so I tried it again. When I got out, I decided to explore a bit. With a gentle force, I scratched the bark of a tree near the barrier as my mark. I apologized to the tree afterwards.
A few minutes of walking, I heard a loud howl. As quick as I could, I ran towards the direction I came from and instantly saw the scratch I made on the tree. Entering Olivia’s barrier, I sat on a root and regained my energy.
Panting, I sat on the grassy fields. I let myself bask under the light of the sun and let the great ball of flames touch my skin with its radiance.
As I let myself bathe under the light of the sun, a sound of a twig breaking snapped me from my thoughts. I stood up and watched the barrier get fuzzy as the sound of breaking twigs got nearer.
"Olivia?" with a shaky voice, I called out.
"Now!" A voice of a woman yelled from a distance. The barrier went wobbly before five large wolves came inside the barrier. They ran into different directions to surround me.
"W-Wait!" I yelled and raised my arms in surrender. "I do not mean harm. Who are you?"
A reddish black she-wolf walked towards me, scowling. She shifted into her human form, her look of disgust never left her face even after shifting.
"Who are we? Well, let me tell you kid, we are only the pack that owns these lands. And you are trespassing, filthy rogue!" she spat, the venom in her words made me flinch.
"I-I'm sorry," I apologized, lowering my head. The woman chuckled, a thick coat of sarcasm enveloped her voice.
“Pathetic.”
I was about to look up when I felt four – no all of them came lunging towards me. Luckily, Olivia taught me self-defense, so I easily blocked their attacks.
One by one, they dashed in the goal of killing me. And one by one, I parried their large muzzles and sharp fangs.
A dark grey wolf, possibly the largest among them, tried to bite my neck. When his jaws came towards me, my hands positioned themselves to his fangs, gripping them and used it to throw him towards the direction of a smaller gray wolf.
The others tried to attack me simultaneously, but I know where I could attack them painlessly. A small pinch right on the neck to knock them out cold.
The reddish black she-wolf lunged towards me. A strong desire for blood gushed from her that it made me shiver.
She leaped high enough for me to look up and squint my eyes because of its sensitivity to sunlight.
I positioned myself to pinch her neck for this to be over, but the she-wolf dodged, making me miss. My fingers found their way towards her shoulder instead.
She mewled at the pain, jumped away and watched her unconscious fellow. She was flinching every time she moves her shoulder.
"They're not dead!" I defended. She only gave me a growl and a loud bark before dashing away.
What will I tell Olivia?
It was about fifteen minutes later when I sensed a large group of wolves run towards me. I haven't realized that I fell asleep waiting for the red she-wolf to come back for her allies. I already treated the wolves that attacked me, and they will be waking up soon.
I felt a large number of presence. About 70 wolves surrounded me, 19 in the North, 17 in the East, and West, and 18 in the South. I couldn't look up. I'm too embarrassed to do so.
As two wolves stood out, my body shivered in a strange way. Their auras are far superior than the others, yet I felt a strange tingle of delight inside me when I focus on them. Something inside me was calling for them and I can't ignore the loud calls.
Oh, no Klyde. What will you tell them?! "Hi, my name is Klyde. I live here and these fellow wolves attacked me!" I practiced in my mind.
No, Klyde. That's terrible!
I heard footsteps walking towards me, it was weird considering it was too light for a wolf. And there were only two persons walking forward. They must be humans.
"Alphas? What's happening?" I heard a boy asked. His voice was high and full of confusion.
There were a few more steps when I felt something flicker inside me like a light switch. A surge of emotions and good feeling came out from nowhere that I could only feel myself being overwhelmed.
I felt my eyes change color as I look up to spot two naked muscular men in front of me. Their eyes were painted with a glowing gold color. I stood up and walked towards them as they walked towards me.
The blonde man was on my right, he cupped my cheek and could only feel pure pleasure as the brunette did the same on my left. I was intoxicated with the great euphoria their presence gave.
The brunette had a lightly tanned skin while the blonde was fair-skinned. They both were muscular but not overly buff. I was looking up at them and figured that they're about 6’4 or so.
Their touch sent more shivers in my bones, but I didn't flinch or avoid. It was a good feeling.
I felt safe, comfortable, warm, and loved.
I was enchanted.
They ran their long fingers on my lips and let my lips part.
"Mates," the three of us said in unison.
