It was evening and Lorraine was waiting at home hoping that her brother returned home soon to let her go to the dress rehearsal event. She had been good doing all her work listening to her tutors and guards too. He wanted to keep her waiting. It was part of the sanction to wait. She watched as a car entered their driveway and parked in front of mansion. But it was not her brother’s car. It was the alpha’s car followed by cars belonging to his guards. What did the alpha want? She left her room and walked down the stairs to greet the alpha. He was there for a reason and he had to be greeted by the host at the mansion. As she reached the living room, she saw him standing in the middle of the room. She knew better than to look up. She looked down as she said “Greetings Alpha. My brother is not home right now.”

Alpha Gavin walked to her “I am aware. I didn’t come to see your brother. I came to see you.” He then watched her reaction as she sweetly looked up. She resembled her brother a lot. She was as fierce and dominant.

Lorraine asked “You came to see me?” She sounded taken back.

Alpha Gavin took a seat on a sofa and gestured to the sofa in front of him “Take a seat Lorraine.”

Lorraine was hoping her brother was going to come any minute. She didn’t like being alone with the alpha. There was something about him that unnerved her. He was quite intimidating and around her he even didn’t unleash his waves of authority often. He was a good friend to Lucas so he showed consideration to her. Also since she was a beta wolf, she didn’t get as affected as others. But still she didn’t feel comfortable. So she cleared her throat “Alpha. May I offer you a drink?.” She then walked to the fridge hoping to kill time until her brother got there. Her instinct told her nothing good could come out of talking to the alpha who even though was only eighteen and two years older than her, but was much more powerful.

Gavin raised an eyebrow “Lorraine. I don’t want a drink. Besides you don’t need to prepare any drinks. Omega servants can do that. Where are your house servants by the way?”

Lorraine put her hand on the fridge handle and turned around “We only ask servants to come once a week to help with cleaning. Our mansion is very big so it’s hard for me to clean but I like doing house work. I like cooking a lot.”

Gavin frowned “Really? And your brother allows you to do all this work?”

Lorraine shrugged “I just cook. There is hardly anything else that needs doing and I enjoy it alpha.” She was looking outside the window hoping her brother arrived soon. The less she talked to alpha about serious things the better. Her brother had been very lenient and liberal at home with her. She didn’t want alpha to know and be harsh to him.

Gavin stood up “I think after I finish talking to you, I will have a word with your brother too. Lorraine you are working too hard. If you lived at my home you wouldn’t have to do anything except leadership unless you wanted to do it for fun. You shouldn’t be making anything unless it’s meant for a beta or an alpha.”

Lorraine found herself face to face with alphas chest as she turned from the window. She glanced at the fridge composing herself as his closeness was unnerving her “Alpha...I can offer you some milkshake I made this morning. Would you like to try?” She wanted time to pass. She didn’t want to argue with the alpha. Challenging his words was not going to end well. She badly wanted to argue.

Gavin nodded “Alright. I don’t mind drinking what you made. If you insist.”

Lorraine turned to the fridge and pulled the milkshake jug from the fridge. She then walked to the counter.

Alpha gavin watched Lorraine as she poured milkshake into two glasses. Gavin took a deep breath as he watched her closely. He was mesmerised by her. He always had been.

After she spilt some milkshake on her finger, she put her finger in her mouth making alpha gavin suck in a deep breath. It was hard to not be affected by her. Gavin walked to her and stood behind her inhaling her scent.

Lorraine froze as she felt her alpha behind her. Her heart was racing. Her beta genes were saying she had to be careful in the presence of this male. One mistake could mean he took it as a challenge. She slowly turned around and without glancing up held up the glass to him. The alpha took the glass and took a sip.

Lorraine was relieved he was busy with the drink and tried to side step the alpha to get away because being in an alphas personal space was not wise by anyone.

Alpha Gavin blocked her path “Look up Lorraine.”

Lorraine gave out a shaky breath and looked up “Yes alpha gavin.”

Gavin said “This is a very nice drink Lorraine. What you make should only be meant for the ones who are worthy...” He then told himself “What you make should only be meant for me.”

Lorraine said thank you alpha. She then looked away “Alpha, can I go sit down please.”

Alpha Gaviin said “Of course.”

Lorraine quickly walked away and sat on a stool around the kitchen table as her heart was beating fast. She was afraid. She watched alpha drinking and finishing the contents of the glass. He went for a second helping as he announced “I will try more.”

Lorraine was about to get off the chair but he stopped her “I will pour it myself Lorraine. You sit down. There is so much to be discussed.”

Gavin poured himself more drink and picked up the glass as he leaned to the counter facing Lorraine who was looking around the kitchen and glancing at alpha from time to time “Today, I came to see if you are alright. I am just coming from interrogating that human family who’s disrespected you. It turns out they had possessions that proves them guilty of treason. I am punishing them publicly at dawn tomorrow at the arena.”

Lorraine covered her mouth in shock and then shook her head. The arena staged the most severed punishments.

Alpha gavin continued “They will scream in agony in public to set an example for other humans to not mess with werewolves and not to posses objects that leads to them being charged for treason. We don’t tolerate spies.”

Lorraine came out of shock and started walking forward towards the alpha “Please, reduce their punishments alpha gavin.”

Gavin said “I didn’t come here to ask for your thoughts on their verdict Lorraine. I came here to ask if you are harmed too. That adds to their crimes. If they have hurt you, then I would subject them to an execution after getting tortured too.”

Lorraine shook her head “Alpha don’t please. I am safe. No one hurt me. It was me who asked him to the prom.”

Alpha gavin frowned “So you lie for him too. He said he asked you first.”

Lorraine said “Because your people tortured him to submit.”

Alpha gavin said “You defying me and arguing with me can not end well.” He then unleashed a fraction of his alphas power to Lorraine making her shake. She was trembling now while being forced to look away.

Alpha got closer to her. He put his hand under her chin and forced her to look up but didn’t unleash his full wrath on her. He didn’t want to make her fully submit. He didn’t need to. He spoke the words slowly but harshly “Lorraine. You are no ordinary werewolf. You are a beta. You are destined for greatness. You only deserve to sit with the greatest and talk with the greatest. I take it as a personal insult if anyone comes close to you who are not worthy of your class. You will not ever talk to another human Lorraine. You only can command humans. You can’t chat to them on the same level as others. I am setting new rules to teach the humans their place. Once they learn their place I will start to give them new freedoms and allow them back into town again. But remember Lorraine, I am watching you. You are a beta wolf. You demand omegas to show you respect and will not treat humans the same way you treat people of your class. Do you understand?”

Lorraine stuttered “Yes Alpha.”

Alpha let go of her chin “Now. Be a good girl. Tomorrow I will see you at the arena. You will be sitting next to your brother. I will send fighters to escort you. Your brother said you are grounded. That don’t matter. You have to attend.”

Lorraine couldn’t believe this. She shook her head “Alpha. Don’t do this please.”

Just then Lorraine heard her brother’s Chevrolet and felt his presence near by. His aura was distressed. Within seconds, she found herself in her brother’s arms who held her tight from behind. His voice came “Alpha. Is all well?” Lucas could feel the tension in the room and could feel that the alpha was not pleased. His instincts told him to protect his sister in front of this alpha.

Gavin said “Your sister does need some lessons about her worth as a beta wolf.”

Lucas breathed “Forgive my sister please.”

Gavin looked at his old friend “Of course. She is abit young. I can understand that. She wants to save the humans.” He spat the words with hate, making Lucas retreat abit while holding his sister.

Gavin started walking closer to the brother and sister “Lucas. I want your sister not to miss the punishments at the arena tomorrow. Make sure she is there. I know you said she is grounded. I want her there. She must learn not to trust humans who stab you in the back.”

Lucas swallowed hard “Yes alpha.”

Alpha gavin walked away towards the exit “I might see your sister at dress rehearsal. I will be over seeing the event. I need to make sure your sister is not courting the wrong type.”

Lorraine breathed “I don’t want to go to prom. I don’t have a date.”

Lucas held her tightly hoping alpha didn’t hear her. What was she thinking answering back to the alpha?

Alpha turned around as he put his hand on the door knob and to Lucas’s surprise he didn’t seem mad at all “Lorraine, you must attend as a beta wolf. It’s your duty to attend... You can be alone.” He then left.

Lucas was frozen not letting his sister move until he could hear the alphas car leave. He breathed in relief “Lorraine, you have no idea who you are dealing with. Don’t anger him. I can take him on but won’t survive the fight... Then who will take care of you Lorraine? Be rational. Control your emotions please. Control your temper.”

The pain in his words made her feel guilty “I am sorry Lucas. I will try to be good.” She then thought of the alpha and how he had intimidated her. She trembled at the thought of how intensely he looked at her. She promised “I will try to keep out of alphas way. Believe me.”

Lucas took a deep breath of relief “Good. At least one of us is off the radar of the alphas.”
