It was early morning and Lucas woke up. He went to the shower to wash off Kelly Anne’s scent. He was sure because he had hugged her, Gillian could recognise it faintly. After he came out of the shower he also put his clothes from the night before in the washing machine to get rid of Kelly Anne’s scent on his clothes too. Then he got dressed and as he was looking at himself in the mirror he took a deep breath. What had he done? He had confessed his feelings to Kelly Anne and she had felt mutually in love with him. She had feelings for him. Now that he knew she felt the same he had to find a way for them to be together. But how?

He made his way to breakfast and sat down as Omegas served breakfast to him and his sister. Because of Gavin and his warning they had to use omegas around the house otherwise they really didnt need extra help. There was just the two of them. The omegas were quite happy living there and earning a reasonable wage that came out of Lucas’s generous pay check. Him and Lorraine treated the omegas well and paid them fairly unlike some households. Basically part of Kelly Anne’s and other protector’s jobs was to fight for fairer wages for omegas. They did a good job but some households needed alot of persuasion to treat the omegas well.

Lucas smiled at his sister “Are you alright?”

Lorraine said “Yes. I am fine.”

Lucas asked “Whats your day like today?”

Lorraine said “You should know. Its the last week of the academic year and prom week so we juniors also get to have as much fun as you seniors. There is a collapsed timetable as you know. We have theatre, cinema, theme park and sports trips this week plus prom preparations are under way. Its so exciting that our year group can join yours.”

Lucas said “Are you excited to go with the alpha.”

Lorraine said “I guess so. I didnt want to go first after he had gone after the boy who asked me to the prom. But I guess it doesnt hurt to go with him.” She lied. She couldnt possibly say she hated him. She just had to endure him and hope by some miracle he didnt want her any more. Alphas were too strong for her family to take on. “What about you? Do you look forward to going with Gillian?”

Lucas thought to himself “Not really. I will be thinking of Kelly Anne the whole time.” He said “Of course.” He had to lie to his sister. How could he say he loved Kelly Anne.

Lorraine asked “Where were you last night Lucas? I saw you leave with your car around midnight.”

Lucas chocked on his toast and coughed. He then said “I went out for business reasons. It was related to my job.” No one needed to know he was holding Kelly Anne in his arms last night.

Lorraine said “Ok.” She then carried on eating breakfast. She then asked “Do we really need omegas to help us around the house? I get bored Lucas.”

Lucas said “Its alphas orders Lorraine that you and I shouldn’t do house work because we are beta wolves.”

Lorraine said “But you dont believe that. Why don’t you confront him about it.” She knew the answer. Alpha was strong. No one challenged him but she was curious what Lucas believed.

Lucas said “You cant say things like that Lorraine. No one challenges the alpha’s orders. We may not like some of his orders but we have to comply silently and nod. Please dont defy him while you are with him.

Lorraine said “I am not planning to defy him. He has warned me already that I shouldn’t defy him in public but behind closed doors I am allowed to challenge him.”

Lucas raised an eyebrow “Really? He has allowed you to challenge him?”

Lorraine said “Yes. But it doesnt mean he will like it. Lets say... I wont die if I defy him. But I can be myself. In public I have to watch my attitude and I will. I am mature enough to understand that the alpha’s girlfriend has to set an example.”

Lucas sighed “Alpha’s girlfriend. Its hard for me to get used to it. You are too young to date him Lorraine. He says based on the laws you are of age but you are still my baby sister. I tried to convince him last night that you were too young but he wasn’t having any of it.”

Lorraine was horrified “You did what? You told him I am too young. Didnt he get angry.”

Lucas smiled sadly “He did get angry. He made me apologise and take my words back of course. He didnt accept it and forbid me from bringing up the topic but I will try again. I think he has pressured you to go out with him. Don’t you think.”

Lorraine said “Well. He wont hurt me. He is a gentleman Lucas. I have to go to the prom and its better if I go with your best friend the alpha rather than with someone else. Other boys may not be so nice.”

Lucas said “You are a beta wolf. Other boys are no match for you. You can kick their backsides. But the alpha is the only one who you cant defend yourself against.”

Lorraine said “Same goes with you. You are with Gillian. You could take on any other woman but you cant take on Gillian. I really dont like her for you. She is pushy. You know when you and alpha excused yourself to talk alone she told me... she wants a baby with you. She cant be serious. You are just seventeen. She is too demanding.”

Lucas said “Did you say that to her? I hope you didnt insult her.”

Lorraine said “Of course not. She wont listen. I did tell her its too soon for me to be an aunt and she laughed at me. She said its not too soon and I am sixteen and I should take responsibility. She said I can baby sit the baby to prepare for having babies of my own.”

Lucas said “No. She didnt say that. Did she?”

Lorraine said “She did. I dont need practice. I am sixteen. I dont want any babies yet.”

Lucas said “I will speak to her about this. She can’t talk to you about babies.”

Lorraine sighed “It doesn’t matter Lucas. Seriously.”

After breakfast they were about to leave when the house door bell rang. An omega came inside “The alpha is waiting outside wishing to take Miss Lorraine to school.”

Lucas sighed “Ok. She won’t be a minute.”

After the omega left, Lucas said “Whatever you do just don’t defy him.”

Lorraine said “I won’t. Don’t worry.”

After a few minutes, Lorraine went outside and was greeted by the alpha.

She said “Good morning alpha Gavin.”

Gavin held the door open to get in. Gavin had a chauffeur again. She got in and Gavin sat next to her and held her hand in his. “It was nice seeing you for dinner last night. You can come to my house tonight with your brother.”

She said politely “I will ask my brother today if we have no other plans.”

Gavin raised an eyebrow “What kind of plans are more important than having dinner with your alpha Lorraine. You and your brother will have to make time because I demand it.”

She said nothing and looked away “We will be there.”

He reached over and grabbed her chin and turned her face towards him “I told you I like you to look at me. You need to kick your habit of looking away from me. I want to see your gorgeous eyes.”

She said “Sorry alpha Gavin.”

“He said apology accepted.” He said . He then leaned close and his lips were inches away from her lips “I want to kiss you now. Do you have objection?”

Lorraine said “Alpha. Please. Allow me some time.”

He let go of her chin. “Fine. But I won’t wait forever.”

Lorraine took a deep breath.

He said “Lorraine. I have some overseers among students who report to me about you as you know. They told me about the human boy who asked you out. They swear you haven’t been close to any boy. But I like to hear it from you. Is there any boy who is bothering you and the overseers have missed? Tell me the truth.”

She wanted to roll her eyes at hearing the word “overseers”. They were spies simply. She said flatly “There is no boy who is bothering me.”

Gavin said “Good. I don’t like boys to waste your time. You are worthy of an alpha. No one else is worthy of your attention.”
