Shadowed by the gifting feathers the city surrounding Memic isle bustled with the upcoming fair. Many traders set for sale in the heat, breaking into arguments about placement and products. The atmosphere could not be better or at least that is what young deer fellow Edan thought as he skipped towards one of the biggest booths. Edan was exited to be apart of the festivities for the first time though he could not have his own booth.

Crag bellow was a grumpy man but a very successful trader, one of the best in Memic and Sarton in-fact. Edan hoped that if he put his charm on crag would allow him to us his booth. Nothing was ever free though so Edan would have to trade something worth crag's time.

"what can I do you for boy," Edan almost shivered at the gruff broken sound to crag's voice he had sounded even scarier than he looked. Crag had scars that morphed his face, he stood taller than anyone Edan had ever seen in Memic and his large stomach hung low over his pants. His bedazzled fingers tapped impatiently of the table below him "you got a voice kid get on with it," his voice was loud and angry, Edan had already wasted his time.

"sorry ser I, um wanted to know if you could spare some spare some space at your booth for some of my products," Edan had spoken quickly but sighed in relief when he realised that he had in-fact spoken clearly. The people around them stared at the small deer fellow standing tall in front of the large man. Crag leaned his body forward with a ruff chuckle and a grunt. He seemed to be inspecting the jumpy little boy. "it, it'll be worth your while ser I promise," Edan was getting more and more jumpy the longer he stood in front of the store holder.

"This better be worth it boy," crag was practically growling he felt as if h had been disrespected "I do this for you and you go to Bellena and collect me some Roachmendrates, and you know the rules either you agree and have a year to complete the task or you fuck off," Edan nodded his head excitedly easily agreeing to the task. Crag snatched the bag from the boys offering had with a sick smile.

Edan was an innocent and naive boy and later his advisory warned him how stupid he had been. The little bat that spoke to him while he was in bed yelled at him. Edan only smiled, he did not care if anyone thought that the task, he been given was impossible if he wanted to make it, he had to do anything.

Edan found himself running to get to the next riverboat to Bellena catching it with just seconds to spare. It had taken hours to convince his mother to let him go but he had done it he was on his way to finishing his first task. A very beautiful girl walked towards Edan while he was watching the sea pass beneath. Edan was startled by the girl who rested her arms on his shoulders. Looking over his shoulder he was greeted by a flirty smile, black hair and green eyes.

"hey cutie what are you doing on my boat," despite the pet names that this woman used Edan could hear the sneer in her tone and it made his heart race uncomfortably." my name is Jadeite bellow and it seems you have upset my father little boy," Edan froze his blood going cold. this was jadeite, he had heard that she could be more ruthless than her father. But Edan did not understand every trade has a year to be completed it had only been three days how else could he have upset the tradesmen?

A knife pressed up on Edan's skin. His neck to be more precise. This was bad and Edan knew it but how could he possibly get out of this without dying. He was about to grab her hands when his wrist caught her eye. A raven mapped out by his veins; how could he have forgotten. With one last breath Edan spun out of jadeite's grip and jumped backwards onto the railing before turning and flying into the air as wings sprouted on his back.

As he quickly flew out of the way towards Bellena he heard screams. With a final glace back Edan saw the wooden boat crumble under the people's feet. His strong wings pelted his back as he landed and began to sprint towards the mountains. His heart was racing what had he done piss of Crag had his whistles not been made to satisfaction. No, it could not possibly be he had tested them himself they sounded professionally made.

Edan was pulled back by his wrists and pushed into the floor. He wriggled under the grip as two men laughed and grumbled above him. They pulled him to his feet again only to drag him to the sandy beach. Edan struggled more putting his entire energy into digging his feet in the soft sand and shaking his body in different directions. The guards acted as if his struggles had no affect on them as they neared another man.

"you realise that by not committing a task within the year you are breaking the law don't you boy," Edan raised his head quickly no way. King Carden. Edan stopped struggling and attempted to speak before he was interrupted. "your attempts to get out of this are futile." A sickening smile spread on the kings face as Edan was dragged into the water and dragged along the bed by waves "Edan Romano you are hereby banished from any isle that is under my rule," Edan cried as the waves took him under.
