~Mykie~
We stayed sitting on the red loveseat for quite some time. Victor admitted that his father let him stay out late.
"Wouldn't you rather go home and eat dinner that your cooks made?" The prince shook his head.
"I can go one day without a fancy made meal," Victor laughed.
"Say, do you ever wear a crown?" I asked while reaching up to the teen's soft hair.
"Well, I do. Not all of the time. I only wear my crown when it's a special occasion, but I have to wear extravagant clothes and all of the medals."
"I don't see why. People will immediately know that you are royalty by your blue hair." Victor shrugged his shoulders. "In my old kingdom, the Blues always wore their crowns."
"I would never do that. I feel like I would lose it right away," the prince admitted. "To be honest, I don't know where my crown currently is. I assume Charles took it somewhere I would not lose it, but I don't even know where."
"I think a Blue should be more responsible than that," I snorted.
"Oh, shut up." Victor rolled his eyes, then pouted. "I am a very responsible person if I must say."
"Well, of course, you are. The future king needs to be responsible."
"Gosh, you sound like my father," Victor said with a scoff. "Hey, Mykie? What was your family like?" It was a very innocent question but it still made me flinch.
"What were they like?" I repeated. "We were very minimalistic for obvious reasons. But my dad liked to crack jokes and my mom would always roll her eyes at him. My sister, she was still young but was curious about everything. We were almost like a perfect family. We were so close to being a perfect family." I stopped and looked at the solemn prince. "Don't give me that face," I told Victor. "Please, you're just going to make me sad too," I patted the teen's arm.
"I can't help it. It's sad when anyone dies, but it's worse when it's your friend's family."
"It's okay."

It was already late, and Mykie was growing tired. I'd left his home and met my escort halfway. He didn't say anything to me, he just walked with his hands behind his back taking large strides.
I was home quite soon with my dad waiting at the front of my arrival. "I'm home, you don't have to worry anymore," I told my father.
"I will always worry about you. You're my son," my dad said.
"Yes, of course." Charles was standing by my door, giving me a slight bow when I approached.
"Was it as exciting as you hoped?" I chucked then shrugged my shoulders.
"Life is always exciting." He let me go to bed but not before I took a warm shower.
Yeah, life was always exciting. Life will always be exciting. As long as I have my friend things will be okay. Right?
I'd walked outside the car, making my way to where Mykie stayed. The people of my kingdom stared anxiously at their surroundings as if something was creeping upon them.
"What's wrong?" I asked a yellow-haired lady who stood around biting her lip.
"P-Prince Victor." She gave me a shaky bow and then straightened her posture. "Nothing is the matter." The light-skinned lady quickly shook her head at me. "Everything is fine." I left it at that, I figured if I pried, it wouldn't lead to good things.
I thanked the Yellow then continued on the path. I'll ask Mykie. He probably knows.
I knocked on the brown door where he opened it ever so slightly.
"Oh, hi, Victor," Mykie whispered then let me inside. "You're here early," he said.
"I guess I am." I looked around then glanced at Mykie. "Hey, don't you think everyone is acting weird?" I asked
"Weird? I don't think I've noticed," he responded. "I haven't gone out yet, so I don't know." Mykie exited the room and into his bedroom.
"Makes sense." I sat down on the seat I always sat on and waited for Mykie to change into his day clothes. "They were acting strange. I asked, but the lady said nothing was wrong. It did not seem that way, though." I spoke a little loudly so Mykie could hear.
"Huh, that's odd," he called back. Mykie approached me then shrugged. "Maybe they are all in on a big secret that they can't certain people."
"Wouldn't that be something." We shared a chuckle, then headed to the lobby where many elderly people sat, knitting away. Almost instantly, they began to tell Mykie stories which he listened to. I joined in, and they were not dull. I see what Mykie meant.
"I pretty much spend my day like that." He told me as we sat back in his apartment. "I hear the same stories multiple times, but I don't really care. I just like to hear them talk." Mykie sat blissfully as he began to talk about each and every person he knows.
The Red was such a cute boy. Of course, normally I don't refer to boys as cute, but something about Mykie really sparked that in me. I couldn't quite tell what it was, but I was hooked on everything he said and every movement he made. My chest would tighten (in the best way possible) when he would smile or laugh. I found that was the most attractive thing about him.
Attractive?
"Victor, I have a feeling you're not paying attention to me." I looked down at the pale boy. He sat with his arms crossed and the smallest pout placed upon his lips.
"Oh—" I said as I began to stumble on my words.
"It's fine, it wasn't that big of a deal," Mykie said, but it still made me feel bad for not paying attention.
"I was just wondering what everyone was worried about." I lied, but the lie only seemed to make the Red uncomfortable.
"Yeah, I wonder." He muttered while playing with his slender fingers. "It couldn't be that bad," Mykie said trying to ease the tension.
"You're right, it's probably a small outbreak of rabies."
"No, Victor. An outbreak of rabies is a big deal." He said while letting out a smile. "That's 100 percent not something people should keep secret."
"Fine, smallpox."
"No, smallpox is bad."
"Measles?" Mykie shook his head. "How about the flu?"
"The flu isn't that bad," Mykie said with a shrug. "I don't think they are worried about the flu, but who knows!" The teen threw his arms in the air with a cheeky smile bringing up a chuckle I was holding back.
"Who knows." I softly whispered.
