I hate wasting food, but portion sizes are tough, especially when ordering in from places that plan on 'family style.'
I recently caved and bought a regular-sized tub of whipped butter; at my rate of consumption it will take approximately two years to finish it.

I'm pretty small so the portions are always too big for me, when I was living in China I always carried a Tupperware with me and 1 portion could feed me for like 3 meals sometimes
