For some reason, it had been freezing for Adonael that day. It wasn't even necessarily cold, but Adonael hadn't felt good. A demon was warm all year round. For that whole day, since he had taken the day off from work, Adonael followed Ken that day, of course, first in the morning while Ken was at work. Then after he had spent some of that morning taking a walk around that human city. Adonael continued walking the streets of Ken's neighborhood. He figured it was very, very unhealthy to think of Ken all the time, but he wanted to ensure Ken was safe.
He always wished he would have kept a closer look at Michael. He was so friendly and kind that no one would have seen for miles that something like this would happen to him.
It was midday when Adonael found Michael in the alleyway. He had been beaten black and blue, and just like what had happened to Ken, Adonael's breath was taken away. Adonael would shakingly kneel to Michael. He put his hands on his arms. He was so cold. Adonael's breath quickened as he moved him slightly, "Michael..." he said quietly. "Michael!!" He said a little louder. Adonael looked around and immediately stood. Who the hell had done this to an innocent child? Michael was not breathing. His glasses were broken on the floor, his eyes wide open. Adonael wondered what the hell he should do. He could not just leave him there. He...also did not want to call the police. Adonael touched him; he already had waited too long to call the police, and he had no alibi besides stalking Kenneth to his work.
Adonael frowned. Instead, he grabbed Michael's glasses from the floor and set them down so that Ken could see them. He kneeled once more to Michael and placed his hand over his heart. Adonael sighed slowly, "Know you were and will be forever loved...I promise I will keep Ken near and dear to me, and I promise you...Michael, you will be avenged..." He said softly. He got up and began walking away, ensuring no one saw him as he left.
Exactly one year later, Adonael was in his own home in hell. He had found much more evidence for Michael's murder than Ken had gotten in the last year. First things first, This was not a random act of murder. This had to be calculated, intended for the police to see this as a wrong mugging. The murderer knew when Michael had been leaving for school that morning and knew which alleyway was perfect for him to grab Michael in without getting caught. For Adonael, this was evidenced by how nothing of Michael's was stolen. His bag wasn't seemingly rummaged through; his wallet was still intact. Adonael had no idea if the murderer knew Michael well, though. Michael and Ken both have no friends. No other family members that any of them seem to visit, no uncles or aunts.
But the killer seemed to have watched Michael and Ken just like Adonael. Adonael would rack inside of his head, who had HE seen that was suspicious. Someone who also had been watching Ken and Michael...Nothing. Adonael couldn't think of anyone in his mind either.
As for the murder weapon, it was something heavy enough to cause significant damage to Michael's cortex and his brainstem. There was even some damage to the back of Michael's neck. Right where the cervical part of his spine was located. Perhaps the perpetrator was, at first, trying to disable him rather than kill him. What could have happened to Michael and the murderer that made the murderer what they were?
It was all very confusing for Adonael. When Adonael wasn't trying to solve Michael's murder, he was working and actively watching Kenneth. His poor Kenneth. When he saw something so awful, it seemed like everything was falling apart for him. But soon. Soon Adonael would make himself known to Ken. He wanted to comfort and help him during his time of need. But he needed to wait for him. He needed to give him time.
He would wait for Kenneth for however long it took for him to be comfortable around him. He would be lying if he didn't say he wanted him now. He had known his fascination with Ken had become more than just that. He had found he was wholly obsessed with himself and his happiness. He wanted him to be happy. Ken hadn't smiled since Michael's death, and soon, Adonael would make it known that he wanted him to be satisfied.
He would make him happy.
