I quickly retracted from him, trying to run back only to bump into another person. This time it was a larger green-haired boy with a missing tooth.
"Oh, I'm sorry," I mumbled. "I didn't see you there." I looked between both boys as they slowly closed in on me.
"Hey, this is that Red from the TV." The larger one said.
"You're right. He is the one everyone was raving about." The other said.
"He is a lot shorter than I imagined."
"But that is what makes him cute." The thinner one pulled me back into his arms making me gasp in surprise.
"You chase after every pretty boy you find."
"But he's different."
"Because he is a Red?" The larger one scoffed.
"Maybe, or maybe it's because he's always attached to the prince which makes it even more of a challenge."I could feel his breath against my neck making him shiver. "You know I love a challenge."
"Um," I started.
"Hm, what's wrong, sweetie?" The teen grabbed ahold of my cheeks while he stared at me.
"Is it okay if you—?"
"If I what?" The arm he put around my waist tightened its grip, his fingers resting in my pockets.
"Oh, Rick, you are scaring the boy." The other said.
"Scaring? I don't think I'm scaring him."
"I really got to go," I tried to look back, but the teen just pulled my face to look at him.
"Hm, why don't you spend more time with us?"
"I just—"
"Rick, don't tell me you're trying to take him home." The bigger Green placed his hands on his hips, rolling his eyes.
"If it wasn't for that prince, I would." He slowly released the grip from my cheeks to softly stroke my hair.
"You would what?" The sound of Victor's voice spooked everyone; we all turned around.
"Good afternoon, Your Majesty," Rick spoke smoothly. "And we weren't talking about anything. Just simple banter." He carefully moved my head so it was resting on his shoulder, patting it.
"Of course, but we have things to do. Come on, Mykie." Victor stuck out his hand for me to grab. I attempted to but was quickly restrained.
"Mykie, huh?" Rick questioned.
"Rick, give the boy back to the prince." The Green, who was watching the whole thing from behind, said.
"Fine, okay. Sorry for taking your... friend, Your Highness." He spoke in a mocking tone while letting me go. "Goodbye, sweetheart." Victor took my hand and held it tightly. I was about to question if this was okay, but Victor looked a little angry so I decided otherwise.
"Can we get a fitting room?" Victor asked the girl who worked at the store. Her eyes traveled to our hands, and then back to Victor's face.
"One?" Victor nodded while she opened up the door for us.
"Oh, gosh, my feet hurt," Victor mumbled while throwing himself on the seating area.
"It's not that bad."
"You try walking in these shoes." Victor shot back.
"Shouldn't you be used to this? You wear them to everything."
"Yeah, but I haven't been actively walking in these shoes for a while." Victor reached up and then pulled me into his lap making me yelp.
"Is everything okay in there?" The worker questioned.
"Oh, yeah. I'm sorry, I just fell." The girl mumbled an okay but she clearly didn't believe me. "Hey, you jerk!" I whined.
"It's your fault for falling." I glared at the prince who had a boyish grin on his lips.
"Of course, my bad." Victor kissed me ever-so-softly on the forehead, then pushed away my hair.
"It's okay." He said against my neck. "It's all okay." About two minutes later, there was a knock at the door. I had to get up from Victor's lap and pretend like I was doing something.
"Mykie?" Charles questioned. "Are you in here?"
"Oh, mhmm," I said softly.
"And Victor?"
"I'm here too."
"Why are you in there?" I could just imagine Charles rubbing his temples in annoyance.
"I got tired of walking and there's a seat in here, sooo I decided to come inside with him," Victor spoke as if it was really simple. "He's just been trying on clothes anyway, very uninteresting." Charles tapped his foot on the floor a few times and then sighed.
"Okay, well, hurry on out." I turned around to look at Victor who was smiling at me.
"Yeah, Mykie, hurry." I rolled my eyes as he pulled me close.
"You are terrible." After a few minutes, Victor and I walked out of the changing room, him happily holding my hand. The king was quick to stare at us, but Victor didn't care. In fact, that made him pull me closer. "Victor," I whispered while he shrugged.
"Yeah?" I stared at him for a while until he wrapped an arm around my shoulder with a laugh.
We did that for another hour or so, piling up bags, making Charles carry them all. I felt bad, but he said he didn't mind.
The king offered to buy me a phone, and I tried to declined. We bought hundreds of dollars worth of items, and I didn't want him to spend thousands. But despite my words, he still bought me one. And then bought Charles a new phone while he was at it.
"Can we hurry? I feel like Mykie might catch a cold if we are out here for too long." Victor said while glancing at me with a little bit of concern.
"I won't catch a cold," I said while shivering.
"I do think it's best for all of us," Charles added.
"Well, let's hurry on." We began to pick up our pace, but I was quickly pulled away. I looked up to see the Green from the store towering over me with scary eyes. I gasped and tried to stumble away which made me almost fall. The Rick boy grabbed me by the wrist to bring me back to my feet.
"I really have to go," I started. "I need to go back to everyone." I glanced at the others who didn't seem to notice that I was gone.
"You're fleeing away to that happy castle?" He questioned, his hold tightening. "You really got lucky. That doesn't happen to just anyone. Especially not a Red like you. A cute, soft, gentle Red like you." Rick sounded like he was holding back something. Like he wanted to say more but just couldn't. "Oh, well. That's quite a shame, actually. It was very fun teasing you." I tried to look back again, but he turned my face so I was staring at his pale one.
"I—"
"You?"
"I have to leave."
"Of course, I shouldn't let you stay away from your boyfriend. It seems like it would be really bad if you were to not go back." The teen leaned close to me, I could feel his breath against my lips. Before he could do whatever he was going to do, I struggled out of his hold and back into the arms of Victor.
"Mykie, we need to head back before you freeze," Victor mumbled, not acknowledging the teen in front of us. "Come on." He took me by the hand, pulling me in front of him.
"Goodbye, sweetheart." Was heard from the distance.
"I told you, you are too cute for your good."
