-Soooo Charles actually wasn't obtained until after Milo, on the route after Turffield. You don't get Toxel as an egg, but actually a newly hatched Pokemon from the daycare. And I promptly boxed him because I had Shamrock and didn't want to train him. But there is a story reason for this rearranging of events, which we'll get to later! For now, the team officially has a baby mascot companion Pokemon! He also turned into an axolotl Pokemon for some reason, because I thought it was cute. Again, random name choice not based on anything, but his nickname incomic will be Squirt because I kick myself everyday wishing I had named him that in the first place.
-And now for the actual catch ingame - irony, I know. Some people had guessed I'd catch Pikachu on this route, since this is Sword, but instead I got fuzzy gremlin Meowth! Who hasn't technically joined the party - again, it shall all be clear in future pages. I'll keep his name a secret for now, but if you do a little digging, you can probably find it. Fun fact, he was actually caught ingame in a Heal Ball! And yeah I originally kept the design on two legs, but we all know by now I have no impulse control when it comes to redesigns. So instead scruffy feral kitty!
-So the factory location is actually on Route 3, where Sonia stops you to explain a bit about it and how it belongs to Chairman Rose, but you never go to that location nor does it come up again. Very odd. A lot of people attributed it to a planed location lost in the time crunch for the release, which seems like a logical explanation, but I wanted to delve deeper into it. So new scene and Dynamax lore dumping, hooray!
-I also changed Vanilites design, sorry! I think the original is cute, but my hands refused to draw anything besides bunny. You wanna know what happened to it after the battle? Just wait ;3c
