“Wake up!” Amy told Claire. Claire slowly woke up, feeling slightly confused.

“What the… Oh, hey.” Her voice was still weak and tired. “Wait… I managed to sleep?”

“Yeah but, save that for later. You have school in an hour, it’s 7:00 A.M. and it’s Monday!” Amy explained.

“Oh crap. Crap. Crap !” Claire repeated while going to the shower.

Amy made a very tiny laugh, amused. She analyzed Claire’s morning routine. Claire would first take a hot shower, eat breakfast which consisted of an apple, a biscuit and hot chocolate, go to her laptop very quickly to see if her homework were 100% done and check her notifications on various websites, make her backpack and get out.

Claire was now walking down the street. She noticed some students going too. Just relax. Everything will be fine. She thought, to reassure herself. She approached the school and then stopped suddenly. Claire turned around and, as she expected, Amy was there. The lady was wearing different clothes now but still had the hat and still was black and white for some reasons. “Really?”

“What?”

“You’re going to follow me at school?”

“I’ve already did, and you didn’t really complain. Remember yesterday?”

“I don’t care about yesterday; it was just a simple meeting. This is actual school, it’s more important and I don’t want to mess it up!” Claire noticed some students looked at her, confused. Oh wait, I’m the only one who can see you. Claire remembered. She pulled out her phone to pretend to be in a phone call. “Okay, listen. Just, don’t talk or do anything. I’ll be fine and I don’t want to have more trouble with you. Got it?”

“Yes.”

“Okay.” Claire got inside the school.

The first hour was French. She didn’t really like French. Yes, she does have some French origins, like that Tailia girl she heard about forever ago, but she thought that the language itself was over complicated. Plus, all they were learning was anything but the actual language, making things slightly harder for her. Claire turned back multiple times to see if Amy was still there. She was, just doing nothing.

The next three hours were utterly boring. Nothing was really going on. Claire could see that every other student had the same expressions on their faces: boredom. Even the very good students.

Claire now had two hours of nothing and lunch.

“Hey.” A girl, about the same age, approached Claire.

“Hi, Audrey. What do you want?” Claire tried to sound as normal as possible.

“You don’t seem all right… At all… Do you want to go see the nurse?” Audrey was the ‘friendly and helpful’ girl at school. Despite her being bullied almost all the time, she still had a positive mind. Claire knew about her and she interacted with her in the past.

“I’m not sure.”

“Your skin is almost fully white… I highly suggest that you go. Even if you don’t want to.”

Claire looked at her hands. She’s right. She thought. “Okay.”

The girls took the hallway to the nurse’s room. Claire looked behind and saw that Amy was still following. Though her face was slightly disappointed. They entered the nurse’s office. The nurse, Mr. Cobby, welcomed them. “Hello. What’s the problem?” He asked.

“Claire is really not right at the moment. I don’t know- “

“We don’t know what’s going on.” Claire interrupted Audrey.

“Okay. Have you got lunch?”

“Not yet.”

“You’ll be going a bit late than usual. I’ll guide you, so you don’t get in trouble.” Cobby said. “Okay, I’ll do a quick blood test. Got it?”

“Yeah.” Claire laid down in the nurse’s bed. Audrey sat in a chair next to it. Amy just stood there.

The nurse proceeded to do a quick blood test. He took a bit of her blood and started analyzing it. “This is odd…” he whispered to himself. Amy approached him to see, waited, and got back to where she was. Cobby then finished. “So, Mrs.…”

“Claire. Claire Evans.”

“Right. Claire, there’s something very weird going on inside of you.” Cobby announced.

“Yeah, I figured that was the case…” she admitted.

“I mean, very weird. The unnatural and nonsensical kind of weird.” The nurse said, slightly worried. Claire’s face turned to worry too. “Your blood is… Changing. Rather rapidly. It’s like it’s infected but I can’t tell by what… I’m sorry.”

“What do I do?” Claire said. Her voice sounded like it was about to cry.

“I honestly have no idea. No symptoms that I know of - and that’s a ton - matches with your infection.”

“Maybe rest for a few days or a week…? It’s fine if you skip school.” Audrey said.

“I don’t know…” Claire responded.

“Do you have any major contacts? I’ve heard that you’re a rather secretive girl… But maybe you’ve come to someone that you shouldn’t have?” Cobby asked.

“Well… There’s my cat, Minmin, but he’s just a cat. There’s the teachers, obviously… Audrey…” Should I tell them about Amy? She thought. “And… I’m feeling observed, followed basically.” She said instead.

“Well, I just suggest that you pass time all alone, Claire… Well, you can still be with Minmin because well… It’s a cat.” Audrey said, trying to reassure her.

“Yeah, I’ll probably do that.” I can’t. She’s still there. Claire thought, thinking of Amy who is observing her with strange wide eyes.

“Take a break from the rest of the week. Come back next week to see if the situation got any better or worse. I feel like it’s the only thing we can do for now.” Cobby told her.

Claire got back to her home. The nurse already told the director that she would be gone for a bit. Amy was following her very, very closely, which made Claire feel unsafe, which defeated Amy’s entire ‘purpose’. When they got home, Claire put her backpack next to her desk, as usual, and sat down at the couch on the living room, which was unusual. Amy decided to do the same and sat next to her. “I’m sorry if I’m bothering you.” Amy apologized.

“I suppose you have your own reasons which I can’t understand, right?” Claire responded, sounding extremely tired.

“Pretty much.”

“Great.” Both waited for a while. Minmin approached the girls and sat on Claire. Minmin was a rather big cat, so when he sat down, Claire almost screamed due to the weight. “God dammit…” She said silently. “Still love you.” Claire told the cat. The sick girl slowly fell asleep, thinking that she wouldn’t get peace anytime soon due to Amy.

The next day, around 11:20 A.M., Claire finally woke up to Minmin ‘pleading’ for her. She was confused for sure, her cat never acted like that, but then she remembered. I forgot to feed you! Her thought screamed at her in her mind. Strangely, Amy wasn’t there. “Oh no!”

She got up and quickly gave food and water to the cat, which calmed down. Claire left out a sigh of relief and slight disappointment to herself. She decided to take a long and slow shower. She got to the bathroom, removed her clothes and felt the need to go look at herself in the mirror.

She didn’t recognize herself. “What the…” It could just be puberty… But she pretty much passed that era when she was fourteen years old. Claire was still herself, but some features in her face felt… Wrong. “Amy?” she called. Amy didn’t come. She must have taken a break too. Claire thought. Finally, I can have a more concrete break. After looking more at herself for a few minutes, she took her shower.

When Claire tried to put on her clothes, which usually fit her pretty well, they were now almost too small, too tight. “Something’s wrong…” She looked at herself in the mirror again, with her clothes this time, and noticed that her body shape was different too. Her proportions were slightly bigger, she was definitely taller, and, to her humongous surprise, her skin wasn’t as pale as before… “So… Puberty…?” She asked to herself out loud. Claire tried to find other strange elements that may have happened. For example; her voice still sounded the same, but it didn’t feel as tired as before. Claire didn’t find anything else. “Amy?” She called again, getting a bit more concerned. She got to her bedroom. The hat was still in its place, intact. Why did she wanted to know that? She didn’t really have an Idea.

Claire decided to take the day off again. She had to admit it, her body felt slightly better than when she was way sicker. Heck maybe even better than it was in her entire life. It reminded her of Freya somehow. Time passes without anything happening. She tried to watch the television but there wasn’t anything really interesting. She wanted to play with Minmin, but her cat was now sleeping. She wanted to read books, but she already read all of them. Being bored for a good three hours now, Claire decided that she would go to the library.

The walk to the library felt weird. Especially without Amy constantly following her. It was strange that, all the sudden, she was gone. Plus, the changes that affected her body still felt wrong. It was a bizarre experience.

When she was at the front door, she noticed the history teacher. That definitely surprised her. “Mr. Damien?” She asked.

The teacher turned back, surprised, but with a confused look. “Huh, who are you?”

Claire’s thoughts crushed themselves inside her mind. She couldn’t think properly. Why would he say that? “…H-Huh I’ve just heard that y-your work was good.”

“Oh, that’s great. Have a nice day.” The teacher said before walking away.

Something is definitely wrong. Claire thought, almost aggressively. She got inside the library. Claire walked down another hallway. Every time she passed one in any location recently, her emotions always changed. When she was walking down the bathroom a few days ago, she was confused. Now, she was stressed, worried. Claire reached the library’s owner. “Excuse me, do you have the book called ‘Fragilized Girl’? By Tom Bird?”

“Yes. First floor.” He said, definitely tired.

“Okay, thank you.” Claire got to the first floor. Reading would destress her, relax her from all that has been going on. She thought about all of it. Her changes, Amy, the park… The park. That’s where it all started, she thought.

After finding the book in pretty good conditions, she got back to the owner of the library. “Excuse me, again. Do you have anything about that park? The one that’s abandoned.”

“Search the newspapers, I don’t know.” He said, not caring much about it.

“Okay.” Claire searched everywhere to find the newspapers. The library was definitely weird, old and disorganized. Eventually, she found them. Two big piles of newspapers. “Well, this is going to take a while.” She said to herself.

She started searching. There was a lot of stuff. Murders, new construction, the announcement of Fazbear’s Wonderland, all that stuff. There was even one talking about potential experiments to humans like regaining or adding a limb, body swapping, transferring minds and more. “Interesting.” She said. Claire was now done with the first pile. It took about thirty minutes, which was less than what she anticipated.

The second pile was slightly bigger. About halfway through, her eyes noticed a very important newspaper:

‘DEAD BODY DISSAPEARENCE AT ABANDONED PARK’.
