I walked outside, the sun was warm on my skin. I smiled as I walked through the grass. I was on my way to meet Lillian. After what happened this morning i didn't know what to expect.
I walked over to the bleachers and went through the gate to get to the underneath of them. This is where all the pot smokers come to smoke, and during football games, where some couples come to make out or.. I shivered, "Lillian!" I called, I stumbled over a rock. "Fuck." I mumbled.
"Over here!" I heard her call, I followed her voice and found her chewing on an apple. Where she had decided to sit there was sun coming through a hole in the wall, it was up further, so no one on the outside could see anyone inside. I walked up to her and we looked at each other, "We should probably talk about what happened this morning.” She said looking at me. “I'm sorry about it, I don’t know what was happening to me.” She looked down.
“Its fine. I did kiss you back.” I said, a smile spread across my face. "Oh! Andrew spoke to me earlier." I smiled, thinking about our chat gave me goose bumps.
"Oh, what did he say?" Lillian looked excited. It was like what happened between us was completely forgotten about.
I squealed, "He asked me out to coffee! He looked so embarrassed, it was so cute!" I smiled. Just then the bell rang, "See you later Lil!" I said running out from under the bleachers. I waved to some boys playing soccer.
I sat down in my chair, the since teacher blabbering about since stuff. Hannah and some of her 'friends' were looking at me and whispering among themselves. The door creaked open and shut with a bang. The teacher spun around. "Well Mr.Beckett. Im glad you decided to join us." The teacher said shooting him a glare. "Well sit down, have someone catch you up." The teacher spun back around and continued on with the lesson.
Hannah waved at Andrew to come sit down with her. There was an empty seat next to her. The only other empty seat was next to me. Andrew walked past Hannah and sat down next to me. He pulled out his since book, "Well? Can you explain it to me?" He smiled, wiping a piece of hair out of his eyes.
"Sure." I said, I leaned over and flipped through the pages of his book, "Here." I pointed to the seventh paragraph.
"Well aren't you going to explain it to me?" He tilted his head.
"Your smart, you can figure it out." I said, flashing him a smile. He chuckled and began to read.
My phone binged, it was a text from my mom. She was asking me to get groceries. My mother is a pediatric surgeon. She is a surgeon for children. She normally sleeps at the hospital, so I live alone most of the time. I dont know much about my dad, he could be dead for all I know. Its always just been me and my mom.
The bell rang. I put my textbook in my bag and stood up. I pulled up my messages and texted her back telling her I would after school.
I walked out of the classroom. "Mia!" I smiled and went up to hug my friend. She was talking to her boyfriend.
"Hey Bree!" She said hugging me, "See you later Kevin." She said to her boyfriend and started to walk with me.
"Notice anything?" I said spinning.
"Hmm, you look like you dont live in a homeless shelter. Lillian did a good job!" She smiled.
"How did you know?" I tilted my head.
"Well when Kevin gave Andrew my number to ask for yours, I suspected that Lillian finally pushed you to ask him out. Then she texted me telling me what happened. And now, wowza!" She laughed.
"So thats why you had Andrews number, when he said he got mine from you I was curious to how he even had yours. Makes sense now." I giggled. "See ya!"
Mia waved to me as she went down the stairs to go to her next class. I pulled out my phone and started going through my Instagram. Looks like Winnie had gone to a part last night. I fell backwards, I had bumped into something- correction, someone.
"Oops- Sorry!" Hannah smiled maliciously. "I didn't see you there." She steeped on my hand as she walked away. I could hear her and her friends laughing as the walked, fuck her.
I looked over, as I had fallen I must have dropped my phone because the screen was cracked into a million pieces. "Fuck!" I closed my eyes and hit the floor.
"You ok?" I looked up, it was Andrew. Of course.
"What do you think? Your girlfriend just pushed me down, made me drop my phone and break it the proceeded to step on my hand as she walked away. So yeah Andrew, just fine." I said getting up. I groaned as I looked at my broken phone on the ground. "Yay."
"Bree. Shes not my girlfriend. And im sorry that happened, can I help?" I looked up, he did look sincere.
"Yeah, you can." He smiled. "You can take me out for coffee, like now because I really need one.
"Will do!" He chuckled. I bent down and grabbed my phone, at least it was still usable, and none of the glass had fallen out.
"Lead the way." I said. He grabbed my hand and lead me out of the school.
