Honey Tongue

Filling In The Blanks

Filling In The Blanks

Dec 22, 2020

Well, a lot of things happened that I was unsure of at the time. Like why did Paige and Asher quit talking? What was the issue there that separated them? What was everyone's problem with dating Asher? Why did everyone dislike him?

Most of the time I dated him, I'd just ignored those looming thoughts in the background. I was finally getting what I waited so long for. Asher would only come around when he felt like it, which made ignoring the questions and thoughts so much more difficult. He only texted when he felt like talking to me, or so I thought. Everything between Asher, Paige, Taz and myself was much more complicated than I initially realized.

It was about three months before I graduated from high school that Taz moved from his motel room to live with some friends in a few cities over where my school was located. He lived so close to the school that I asked if I could stay with him here and there to get to make traveling easier. He was cool with it, so I spent a lot of time with him again at his new house. The vibe was a little different than it was when I lived with him in the apartments. He drank more and partied harder.

My relationship was shaky with Asher, but it got much worse after staying with Taz. We fought more, saw each other less, and split up for a short time. Asher and I made up and things fell into its regular pattern of insecurities. Taz was getting worse by the day, though. He was drinking non-stop, didn't care what was happening or who was around. He was dating someone new and she was a bad influence on him.

We got some people together a few weekends before my graduation for a party. Asher decided that he didn't want to see me and flaked on coming to the party after he said he'd show up. I was upset and asked if he would change his mind and come anyways which is when we split up for the second time. My night was turning out to be pretty terrible. I decided to take it as it was and enjoy myself anyways. I started to party and have fun.

Asher would text me trying to pick fights throughout the night. Every time I tried to relax and have some fun he would text me again. I gave up and resigned myself to the back porch. On the flip side of this party, Taz had found some strange middle aged man walking around in the field behind the house and invited him in for a drink. The strange man was already drunk and trying to touch all of the women in the house.

We mentioned this to Taz, but Taz replied to us that he couldn't kick out someone who also served in the Navy. Now, back to the back porch that I was sitting on, I was fighting with Asher over text still. I was upset and crying when Helen and her friend from work stepped out to find out what was going on. Helen was the woman that Taz started dating, she was the bad influence, and she decided that I needed a distraction. She called her cousin to come over.

The situation with this strange man was getting worse, as well. Taz had other roommates besides Helen. They were Jay and Dawn. Taz wasn't doing anything to remove this creep from our house so we had to call Jay and Dawn home. They somehow managed to make a 30 minute drive in 10 minutes and as soon as Jay walked through the door he grabbed the creep, tossing him though the back door onto the porch. The creep took off and we called the police.

This strange middle aged man had tried to rape his 13 year old daughter right before he popped up in our field. The night was getting late and we finally finished with the police questioning when Helen's cousin arrived. His name was Nate. By this time, the argument with Asher had gotten so out of my hands that i wasn't sure if we would ever even talk again. Nate walked up and gave me a hug. He let me cry on his shoulder until I was ok again.

I thanked him and apologized for crying all over his shoulder, Then i went inside and laid down on the couch to get some sleep. I was drunk and upset. It was time for that day to be over.
