Kal watched me go before sighing as he took out his own garment bag of robes and clothing which he hung up in the closet at the other side of the villa as he looked out towards the direction of the churning sea, the unmistakable urging pull, like a robe tied around his chest making him tip his head back and close his eyes as he felt drawn towards the sea just a few yards away. It was a pull unlike that of holding two super magnets apart, the force drawing them together is unavoidable and only gets harder to resist the more you try, New York is close enough to the sea that Kal is able to function normally, but that urge is still there, but being here with the sea less than a stone’s throw away, the urge was unable to be ignored and was like an addictive vice grip on his mind that just kept telling him to go…go to the sea…go to the home he knows there. Kal shook his head softly to clear the haze away as he looked down towards his now webbed and scaled hands, rubbing his palm with his other thumb as he looked towards the large pool they have private access to in the villa. He sighed,
“I have a few things to do first” he said to himself as he rifled through his suitcase before pulling out a small jewelry box like chest and opened it revealing all sorts of mystical objects: crystals in all shapes, colors and sizes, a large rod of dried sage, various types of incense, herbs, charms and talismans. He set it on the kitchen counter as he took out a few things, lighting the sage with his fire-breath, the thick scent of the burning sage astringent from the proximity as he flicked his free hand around in complex movements of his hand, wrist and fingers as words of the arcane tongue rolled off his own. Within the first word, his eyes milked over yellow blanking out his pupils as the color progressed to encapsulate his eyes, scales rippled and spiraled out across his face and body as vaguely kelp/seaweed and coral shaped magic made of woven, intricately wrapped and twisted strings of blue-green and turquoise light, shifting and churning around the air in front of him forming an extremely complex magical circle. The circle swirled and shifted as the runes and markings twisting into proper shape and form. Seaweed and coral of shifting sea toned light swirled along the edges of the room, slowly moving and wrapping around the base of all of the walls before it spread along the edges of the villa’s ground, vanishing about the hedges and edges of the property before glowing brighter and brighter before snuffing instantly as the magical circle that floated in front of him turned a seafoam green color glowing as the seaweed edge churned like a sawblade before shattering outwards like light as the air seemed to ripple in a bubble over the villa’s grounds as Kal finished the wards.
There were even moments where there would be vague aquatic animals seen moving about the light as it made a near cage work around the property. The magic that Kal uses is always aquatic in his visibility, but he has always had a pension for being in the water, so his magic chooses a form of currants made manifested as thick ribbons and cords of glowing light.
“That should last for a bit over a week, its nothing like back home…but it will make due.” Kal said as the air seemed to have the rippling bubble like magic of the wards as he rocked his shoulders, his muscles flexed and bulged against his shirt as he stretched his arms out, popping the joints and stretching his person out as scales rippled across his skin. “It has been…far too long sense I have been able to swim freely in the ocean” he added as he looked towards his scaled hands as he pushed the sleeves of his shirt back, looking at where his forearms had small fins sprawling off the back side, matched on his calves and the one down his spine pressing uncomfortably at his shirt as he recalled when he was last able to freely be himself in the sea. Kal smiled to himself as he looked out over the villa’s grounds, thinking about how comfortable, how safe and warm he felt now, he had never truly felt like there would or could be someone out there that would be so accepting, so inviting and comforting for him to be around, someone that would accept every aspect of his demonic blood and never find a fault in him being whom he is.
“Tomorrow…tomorrow we can go out on the sea…It has been so long sense I’ve been able to be out like that.” Kal said as he nodded softly.
