Simon pushed a book towards Gareth. “Here, maybe this will help. It’s got some pretty neat legends in it and you do need to choose something for your upcoming Draconium project, right?”

“I do. I don’t know what I want to work on though.” Gareth said, picking up the book and flipping through it.

Draconium projects were a big deal for young dragons. If you failed one, you weren’t considered a productive member of society and would be expelled from the academy and banned from the nobility. Every young noble dragon and a few chosen from the rest of the kingdom had to completely a Draconium project their second to last year of school.
