The stable yard was quiet, the first rays of dawn were breaking through the dark grey sky. Tara and Witch were the only ones out. No other people were awake on the property and the animals were still asleep. As they walked to the barn, Tara swung off of Witch, loosened her girth, and walked beside the mare.
