"Ioana Mihai has successfully been killed along with her family," My father informed me. Ioana Mihai was a powerful witch that has been fighting our faction within Transylvania, Romania for centuries and finally she has been killed. However, within her last moments she did not give us any further information on the others like her around the world. She chose to die like the prideful bitch she is. Who knew that those bastards even had pride to begin with? Her pride, in the end, led to her dying like a fool.
"Even though she was eradicated, she sent her children off to some unknown location before we could even get rid of them. Now every single one of our factions is looking for those children so we can exterminate them for good and end that damn bloodline before they create any more demon bastards like themselves," My father grimaced. It always pissed me off that they would even do something like that because it gave us more work to do. We almost always could not track down the children because they were sent to some unknown location in the world with new names and faces that even we could not figure out.
"Did she have any last words? They always have those," I remarked.
"Yes. She said, 'Jur pe sufletul meu răzvrătit că vei pierde'," He replied. That made me laugh because there will be a cold day in hell before that happens, especially since they are such weak creatures.
"Foolish woman," I harshly laughed.
"Very," He agreed chuckling.
"How are we going to track down those kids? Those witches must have changed their faces and their names altogether," I said.
"Don't worry, son. They will slip up one way or another and we'll be there to correct our mistakes," He smirked. Cases where they do slip up when it comes to changing their entire identity are sometimes a frequent thing, but other times they slip right through the cracks.
"On our next agenda, the meeting that we usually have is being postponed due to the fact that the raid on Ioana and her coven had resulted in many casualties," My father informed.
"How many casualties were there?" I inquired.
"Considering how the agencies best men and women were deployed, there were hundreds," He answered. Damn that dead bitch and her coven. They killed so many good men and women.
"I'm proud of those fallen comrades for fighting the best they could, but I'm upset at the fact that so many have families that will never see them again," He sighed loudly.
"Don't worry. We'll honor them the best way we can and that is by ridding this world of those vermin," I assured him. He smiled faintly.
"Yes. We shall make sure their deaths weren't in vain," He nodded. The door to the office burst open and Chase ran in with an urgent look on her face.
"Sir! There's trouble!" She exclaimed.
"Chase, what's going on? What's wrong?" He inquired worriedly.
"There's been an attack on our branch in Romania. Currently, there's a witch who came to take back the bodies of Ioana and her family," She informed him.
"What?!" We both yelled in disbelief.
"The witch is burning the entire place to the ground and other branches are sending soldiers over to do help, but at this point it doesn't seem like they're going to get there in time," She explained.
"Fuck!" My dad thundered angrily.
"Is it just one?" I asked.
"Yes. She's been fighting all of them off by herself and they've been dropping like flies," Chase answered.
"How could they let one witch infiltrate their base?" My father hissed.
"Apparently she disguised herself as one of their members and snuck in while also carrying that same person's body," Chase replied. This was very unexpected and bold of them to just send one person to cause this much destruction and take the body of Ioana. However, somehow I feel like this person was working alone. This person was possibly working on pure emotions.
"Axel, change of plans. We're going to Romania as soon as possible," My father told me. I nodded silently and got up from my chair.
"Chase, thank you for the information. Make sure to call over my brother so he can handle things until we get back," My father said.
"Yes, sir," Chase saluted.
"The audacity of those damn bitches," My father spat, "If they think that we'll just sit by idly after this incident then they are mistaken. We are going to retaliate and we are going to retaliate hard."
"I'll make sure to track down the witch that has the nerve to attack us and I'll make her suffer a fate worse than death," I growled. I'll have that damn witch's head on a stake no matter what. I'll make an example out of her to show those other vermin what will happen when they cross the Blood Brothers. They will all know pure terror once I get my hands on that woman. I'll make sure that they never go up against ever again.
"Axel," Chase called after me.
"Yes?" I looked at her.
"Be safe," She replied. I smiled softly with a smile. It was nice that she was talking to me after a couple of months. I appreciated her words and her worry about my safety so much because she was a dear friend to me. I'll make sure to come back alive for her and my family. We will solve this shit the best we can and take action as soon as possible.
"Axel, gather our best soldiers and have them ready to go in an hour," He said.
"Yes, sir," I nodded.
"Make sure that you all meet me back here safe and sound with your weapons at the ready," He added.
"Yes, sir," I responded.
"Good now. This mission might be dangerous, but I want you to promise me that you'll make it out alive," He said.
"I promise, father. I'll make it out alive," I assured him.
"Good. If I so much as die, you are to not look back at all. You are to run away no matter what happens or how cowardly it may seem. You need to live to take care of your sister and Naomi," He told me. We always had these talks before we went on important missions together. He has been drilling this into my head ever since I was a young and inexperienced trainee that had only held a gun for at least an hour or two.
"I promise," I murmured. He smiled faintly and pulled me into a hug before we went our separate ways. Tonight was now or never and we don't know how dangerous this mission is going to be whether they send people to try and do some more damage or not. We could not take any chances at all with these people nor could we just sit by idly. Action needed to be taken no matter the cost.
As my father had instructed, I gathered all of our best and capable soldiers to come with me. Most of them were ready to leave at the ready and I instructed them on where to go so we could depart. Since the organization had enough money to keep itself running, we had our own planes that we used whenever it came to overseas work, especially the councils we held every single year to discuss plans of action to rid this world of those scum. It wasn't hard to gather people, but it was difficult trying to figure who should come with since there were soldiers that were capable of holding their own against them and killing as many as possible, but I did it.
Quickly, I briefed them on what was going on in Romania as they picked out weapons from our weapons room. They listened to me and thoroughly close what they wanted. Once briefing was over, we headed over to one of the planes. I informed one of our pilots of where we were going and he got onto the already fueled plane. He assured me that the trip was going to be a safe and smooth one.
At exactly one hour, my father was back with his bags. He put them onto the plane with the rest and got on with the rest of us that were waiting patiently. We gave the pilot the go ahead and he started the plane.
"Once things are solved in Romania, Axel and I will be staying there. I'm pretty sure that the council will want to hold a meeting after this incident and I can't blame them," He informed us, "This was a tragedy that could have been avoided altogether."
My father was very angry at the situation and I understood. Good men and women that worked every single day for their families were gone in just one night. It was horrible what that damn witch did to them and it made me want to do more than just kill them. My father was probably like a lion waiting to strike at the right given moment because of how they made fools of us.
"How are we going to track down the witch?" One of the skilled soldiers asked.
"Evidence. We are going to evidence as quickly as possible once we get the blazes under control and scour the land for any type of clue on who did this," He informed them.
"From what the evidence Chase sent me shoes, a large portion of the surrounding area had been set ablaze as well, but nothing else was. It was like they had contained all of that within one area," I spoke up.
"They didn't just want them to die," Another skilled soldier said, "They wanted them to suffer. Greatly at that."
That was something I could agree with. They wanted these people to suffer greatly and what better way to do that than to contain the chaos within a barrier or something. That way you limit the amount of destruction on the town near the mountain. As much as I hated to do it, I have to admit that they were very smart to even think about that kind of plan. This showed me that they weren't just acting on emotions alone either.
"Did she send any other information?" He asked.
"Other than that, yes. She sent information saying that no matter how many times they try to get through the barrier, it won't budge. It's as if the one who created the fire is trying to get rid of evidence," I explained. He frowned deeply.
"Does she have an estimate on how long the fire will last?" He asked.
"No," I shook my head.
"How many from the council are coming?" He questioned.
"All of them, except for the leader of our branch in China. He's away on an important mission for over a month now. Nobody has been able to contact him for ages," I explained.
"Damn it," He swore, "This is no time to just go missing."
It was known around the organization that the head of our branch in China was on an important mission for three months, although they kept it on the down low. It was inconvenient for us to have him disappear like that because of the situation at hand. However, I'm sure he'll get the news some way, some how when he comes back along with an earful of why they need to be in contact with him at all times.
"Until we arrive in Romania, you all get some rest or do whatever the hell you like. Either way, just don't wreck the plane," My dad instructed.
"Yes, sir," They all replied. The planes mood stayed solemn like before and it was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. This wasn't exactly a time to be relaxing anyway. Just about everyone was edge about the entire situation and there was no way in hell that they were going to be calm or relaxed on this. That would be just pure insanity.
Since we were "relaxing", I asked Chase to send me more updates that the organization was sending every single second to its members. With this information I'll be able to have a full idea on what the others were going to do and how this issue with the fire could be solved.
