Everyone stares at Ewain and Katarina after they both shared their story.
“You went through so much…I never knew you 2 were from the other side of the walls.” Klara said in a little bit of sadness and compassion.
Ewain smiled. “Well, Without all that suffering, Me and Katarina wouldn’t be here now. But Thanks, Madam Klara.”
Katarina faintly smiles at her as well.
Everyone then went silent, lost in thought after listening to how the duo lived their lives in a country with corrupt rulers, taking territory after territory. But then Ishild spoke:
“If that is indeed true...I say we must do all in our power to expose the truth then! We must topple down their regime. With all of us here and our Big Alliance, we can do it! We can pressure them! Don’t you all agree?! Although Ewain may be weird at times, He did the right thing for telling us the truth!”
Everyone else looked at each other before they all nodded in approval.
Gabriel replied, "I'll do all in my power to help. I can guarantee you that."
Bruno, Alonso, and everyone smiled. Then They all yelled:
“YEAH!!”
Meanwhile, in the Meeting Room, Aeneas, Mineva, Mabel, and her Tactician Edward were questioning Solomon and her reasons for arriving at the capital and intervening in a conflict, due to strict laws regarding foreigners.
Mabel then asked Solomon, “So You just happen to pass by the area? From where?”
"I can't tell them about Andromache...not yet."
Solomon nodded and answered calmly. “I merely was traveling around to some place away from my home town in Vallia. But I don't know where...I never been so far away from home. I just remembered waking up from a beach...and everything felt so foggy. But Out of curiosity, I traveled around the area. But then I saw that battlefield earlier in town...In Cordia.”
Mineva spoke. “So you just happened to witness the battlefield? Why did you intervene if you were just a traveler?”
Solomon then said: “While that fact may be true...I could hear the cries of the people suffering in town. I….couldn't just do nothing. I wanted to do what was correct, your highness. Especially if I knew how to fight.”
Aeneas then closed his eyes and remembered what she said earlier….
Solomon then quietly replied back. “Keep this a secret from the rest...But Me and you….Our roles aren’t so different.”
Aeneas was surprised when he understood what she was trying to say. “You mean You’re…..”
“Yes….In a sense. I’m doing this because I value innocent values over myself. If I went back home like this….My Father would never let me become head of the clan. And He would be right to do so. A King or Prince…..Anyone….Should never abandon their friends and family. Especially if they have cared for you...and loved you...It’s unjust. You understand?”
Aeneas had an idea of who she really was, but decided that it would be best if it was a secret just between him and Solomon for the time being. And more than anything...
"There was also a possibility that she could have come from somewhere else, since she did not seem so familiar with Odgard...nor did she react as I expected when we mentioned the Eastern Continent...We already have our hands full with Thabes...It's best if we push this for another time after we deal with our future enemy."
...He didn't want to extend the long conversation for hours.
Duchess Mabel then shouted: “That was still reckless of you...You could have been killed!”
Aeneas then stood up and replied in response to Mabel.
“I trust this lady! And I believe she did the right thing.”
Mineva responded, “You trust this foreigner? Are you sure that is a wise choice?”
Aeneas spoke up and grinned.
"She definitely has my trust. If she saved the lives of soldiers and our people, doesn’t that already say enough about her? She's no coward, that's for sure. That's guts for you.”
Everyone went silent. No one could argue with that...
Aeneas then remembered an important detail: Solomon's Mana Link Technique.
“Ah, And regarding your technique earlier...Is this a powerful technique...back where you're from?”
Solomon then replied with a puzzled look. “No, Pretty much everyone can do it. But It's used in specific situations, so in terms of combat...I wouldn't really recommend it, it's far too dangerous.”
Mabel then was puzzled.
"Mana-Link?"
Aeneas then nodded at her, and gave her a gesture, as if he were saying, "it's not really worth talking about, we should just move on." Mabel then sighed and continued with the last of the questioning.
"So...How will you go back home? By Foot? Vallia is so far from here...Even by boat...It's dangerous right now."
Everyone was deep in thought now.
Then Aeneas came up with something.
“How about this...Solomon can stay for the time being and become a citizen of our Country. I will grant her all the rights to live here until we figure out a solution to bring her back. She currently doesn't remember everything, so I say we give her some time. Basically, She has the freedom to live here for 5 years! And even better….You may even join our army and help us create peace among these lands! What do you think, Solomon?”
Solomon smiled. “Thank you, Milord. I accept your kind offer. I’ll help however I can.”
Aeneas smiled. “Well, It’s decided then! Birdlady will be a citizen and join our army! Any questions?”
Mabel, Mineva, and The other members didn’t object. Thus...
“Alright then! Starting today…..Birdlady is one of us! I humbly welcome you to the Kingdom of Calydon!”
Solomon smiled. “Thank you, Sir Prince.”
The meeting was adjourned.
The doors opened and there was everyone.
Reinhardt then spoke up. “Milord! So What happens now..?”
Aeneas smiled. “Birdlady is officially one of us now!”
Everyone sighs in relief. Dylan says: “What a relief.”
Ewain then comes up with an idea. “Hey! Why don’t we celebrate this occasion?!”
Aeneas then lit up. “Genius, I like that. Let’s do it!”
Gabriel laughs.
"I like this guy already!"
Reinhardt then was a little shocked. “W-wait Milord, Ewain! We still have to-”
Everyone rushed towards town, as Aeneas yelled back to him:
"WORK LATER, DRINK ALL MY PROBLEMS AWAY FIRST!"
He then laughed as he ran away.
Mineva then yells at him, echoing through the halls:
"Hey, you klutz! Get back here! I'll kill you!"
Reinhardt then sighed to himself.
“Well I guess It won’t hurt to relax tonight…I'm stressed out too. Oh, but first...."
"Ewain!!"
Reinhardt then calls him over for a chat.
"Everything okay sir?"
"Yeah...Its about Oliver, where he made that comment about the Mana Institute in your country."
"Oh...He said they had one here too? What's up with that?"
Reinhardt then whispers into his ear:
"We suggest you keep this information to yourself but...about nearly 8 to 10 years ago, an incident happened here regarding a "Mana Institute" but in Calydon, where the ruins was located in the Jupitar Region. We have no idea what experiments they were conducting but...What we do know is that Oliver here is a victim. Do you know anything about that place in your homeland? Anything helps to potentially catch the criminal behind this."
Ewain nodded in understanding.
"Ahh...So that's what it was about...I'm so sorry to hear that. But...As this was 4 years...I remember the Institute being there for about 5 years, as I recall its "Grand Opening." But Nothing odd was talked about it."
Reinhardt then came up with an idea...
"Do you think we can request spies to check the place?"
"Spies?! Is it...that serious??"
"I'll bring this up with my lord, and we will talk to Princess Mineva about this. This could pontential be serious, because If our House Jupitar was behind the incident...Well, It's our problem basically. And for them to intervene somewhere else, especially cooperation with an enemy is treason. So I ask in advance...Do you still have connections with Surveil?"
Ewain thought about this carefully...before he looked at Reinhardt and nodded in approval.
"I know someone who has connections with them. Princess Mineva is aware of this. You can give the signal anytime, and I inform them of the plan. They work for the Fleiss Branch, so there is nothing to worry about."
Reinhardt smiled.
"Thank you, Sir Ewain."
They both smiled and shook hands. From this point forward, Relations with Brandenburg would sour, as Calydon days later after this incident would stop trading with the republic and would strengthen ties with the West. The Republic noticed and later banned any Calydonian Company from doing business from the country. They were...devastated. But with this action, The Thabian Emperor would see this...as an opportunity.
