“Why… would I need that?”
Nyx looked over at Zain. Sometimes the guy was way too innocent for his own good.
“Zain, soon I’ll turn again and I don’t want to hurt any innocent townfolk, they don’t deserve it. Before, Elrick had always been my release, but as he’s not here...”
“Oh.”
“Yeah.”
Nyx looked guilty, and it made Zain want to hug him.
“Hey, don’t feel bad,” The redhead said, now standing in front of the alicorn, “It’s not your fault you’re born like that, Nyx. If I need to be your release, please use me. It’s just that...”
A blush crept up the smaller man’s face and it made Nyx giggle.
“Don’t tell me you’re still a virgin?”
Zain pouted. “So what if I am? I just never had the opportunity before. School took priority.”
The winged unicorn hugged Zain’s waist, making the guy stumble forward awkwardly.
“Nyx!”
Nyx loosened his grip just enough for him to gaze up at the startled redhead and smile brightly. Zain put his hands on the other’s shoulders for support. Them being so close to each other now, made him blush even more.
“Nyx, I just have one request.” His voice was shaky but still confident.
The gorgeous man with his midnight blue locks nodded, now serious again.
“I… I don’t mind you feeding off of me when the time comes. But before that happens, can you like…”
The last part was too whispered for Nyx to catch and he watched as the man in front of him tried to hide his face behind his hair, which failed miserably.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t catch that last part.” A grin tugged at the alicorn’s lips, having an inkling of what Zain wanted to say.
“I said: Please take my virginity!”
There really was no backing out now. Zain had said it. He really had put his viginity in the hands of a stranger that he didn’t even know for a whole day yet.
“Are you sure? I don’t want you to regret it.”
“I’m sure! I want you, Nyx! Ever since I first laid my eyes on you, I fell head over heels for you! I know it’s still early and I barely know you, but I know I’m already in love with you, Nyx!”
Zain was pretty forward for sure. And Nyx actually liked that. A lot. He smiled.
“Okay, but let’s wait a week, okay? I want to get to know you just a bit better before making a decision.”
Zain nodded, looking relieved.
“Anyway, when’s the next full moon?”
Nyx stared as Zain pulled out his phone. “Shit, phones sure have changed in twelve years!”
“I know, right? Pretty sweet, hm?”
The two of them gushed over all the new functions the alicorn didn’t know about and then went back to looking for what they needed to know: the date for the next full moon.
“We’ve got twenty days. That should be plenty, right?”
“If we can find all the ingredients and can test the potion, then yes.”
Right, the potion.
“You’ve read the page, right? Was there anything difficult to find in there?”
Nyx opened the book again. “Hm, everything seems Earthly to me. Some things we might need to buy on the black market though.”
“Black market?!”
Zain didn’t even know if the town even had a black market, and even if it had, would he even survive? He had heard nothing but bad things about black markets in general.
The alicorn chuckled. “Don’t worry, I’ve been there before with Elrick, so I know how it works. I’ll protect you.”
He eyed Nyx suspiciously. The man was well-build, but not so much that he could take out guys who were probably carrying guns.
“Can you though? What if people start shooting? With guns?”
An amused laugh escaped Nyx’s mouth. “Do you believe the black market is that dangerous? And even if we would end up in danger, I can still protect you with my magic.”
Zain was in awe. Everytime they talked, he discovered something new about the mystery man, and this time it was literal magic.
“Okay, like real magic?”
“Hmhm,” Nyx hummed proudly, “I can show you if you want?”
“Yes please!”
Nyx chuckled again at the eager look on the redhead’s face. “I’ll show you after lunch, okay?”
“Oh shit, it’s that time again! Let’s get out and have some lunch! Wait, you can go out, right?”
The alicorn nodded. “Magic, baby.”
