Lost without you

Gun fire

Gun fire

Jan 08, 2021

I’m driving down a quiet road in the middle of a small town; I can hear Zack start to wake up, stretching and yawning.

“Hey sleepy head.”

“Hm? Oh, hey Jams,” He said as he rubs his eyes. He can be so cute sometimes.

“Sleep well?” I asked

“Yeah,” he replied.

“Good,” I glanced at him for a second and smiled, then averted my eyes back to the road.

It’s been quiet in the car for a good while now. It’s not awkward or anything like that, it’s… it's calming, comfortable, relaxed silence. But of course, that has to end at some point.

Disturbing the quiet was a gunshot in the distance. As fear immediately takes over, I stop the car.

The night is dark and eerie. Five minutes go by and I thought I should move the car at least to the side of the road so I’m not in the way of oncoming cars; though I highly doubt someone wants to drive where there are gunshots being fired. I can’t exactly see where I’m going but I managed to get the car to the side of the road.

“You’re scared, aren’t you?”

“What? No..” I say with a hint of doubt.

“Uh huh, sure.”

About half an hour go by with one or two gunshots fired. Police got there not so long after the second shot was shot.

Zack and I stayed there for a little longer until we knew for sure that everything was fine. We managed to keep ourselves calm through that, even so, it was difficult doing so; I won't lie about that. Yet I never showed that fear. Not once. Of course Zack knows me too well and could tell I was afraid. So he kept me relaxed as best as he could by just talking. I like the sound of his voice and he notices that. So when he can tell something’s wrong, all he does is talk to me, besides his voice is very calming and has a husky tone to it.

Trusting that we were safe at last, I started the car up and drove off, continuing our path to my mom’s place. Nevertheless we thought we were safe. We thought. But that was not so much the truth.

I am so sorry that I never uploaded last week. To be honest, I didn't have that much motivation to write an episode and for that I am sorry. Nevertheless, here is chapter 2 of Lost without you. I hope you liked it.

Again, I am sorry about last week.
Enjoy the rest of your week and next week. Bye loves!
