This one's a bit personal. From elementary to 6th grade, people thought I was lying when I said I was Mexican, but I didn't know how to speak spanish because my dad thought it would be easier for my sister and I to fit in if we didn't speak it. But the school I went to was mostly hispanic people and so poeple thought I was just a liar. I don't have this problem too much anymore, because I learned enough spanish to carry a conversation, though I'm not at all fluent.
