Feeling like he was just starting to open up to her some. So far Tink told her he doesn’t leave his room at home unless he has to be somewhere. That he doesn't talked to Trevor or her unless they ask the question, then it was still a short response. She knew there had to be so much going on in that head of his.
He was trying to learn his way into the world again. Do what was needed of him for his parole to go well. Also she was sure that being gone for so long had to be hard for him too. Away from everyone and everything he knew. Not the mention the added pressure from Mike on him.
“The other day when you mentioned not always seeing the big picture, what if you never see it?” He questioned her.
That comment had been running through his head all week. Wondering if there was even a big picture for him?
“Well, it’s still there either way. If you do or don’t see it. There’s a plan for everyone.”
“What if you don’t like the plan you see ahead of you?”
Looking up at him with a questioning expression, “Then change it. The big picture isn’t set in stone.”
Danni was giving her honest thoughts to him, not sure what he was looking for in them. Staying quiet as he seemed to think over the things she said to him. Pulling herself closer to him, wrapping her arms around his. Stealing what warmth she could from him.
Letting her hand feel along the muscle that lay just beneath the thin layering of his shirt. Dustin felt his body tense up as she pulled closer to him. Wanting to give in to the feeling but still thinking she was off-limits to him. That even this right here was too much contact between them. The night grew darker as they walked, street lights turning on around them.
“The big picture I want . . I can’t have.”
“You can have anything you want.”
He looked down at her and laughed wondering if she only knew what he wanted. He wanted a life that a felon like him could never have his hands on. A life with a woman that he could provide for. To be the man that his father never was or could be. To find and have a woman that loved him for just him. A woman that could somehow overlook his past and see the man he was trying to be. Feeling stupid for the things he wanted but ten years gave him a lot of time to daydream about it.
“How can you always be so positive?”
She thought about this for a long moment, “Because people like you need someone like me.”
There were many times when she didn’t think anything good could come but she tried her best to see the good in everything and everyone. It was so easy to give up and not be happy with what you had or couldn’t get. He did wonder how she could still be so light and happy with everything that’s happened to her, around her.
“It’s a hard job quite honestly.” She laughed trying to brighten up the mood as they turned back around heading back to her car.
He didn’t ask any more questions on the way back. Dustin was the quietest she’s ever seen him before. Definitely in his head, taking everything on by himself when it didn't have to be like that at all. On his own was where he felt he was. He’s been on his own forever. Getting out didn’t change any of that for him. Everyone was always in just for themselves.
“You going to be okay, Dustin?” She asked, letting go of his arm so she could unlock her car.
“Yeah, I’ll be fine.” He spoke snapping out of his little trance he was in. “Thanks for the lesson and walk.”
He knew their night was almost over but wasn't ready to let her go just yet. Dustin enjoyed the time he had with her. She made him feel what he would to call happy even if it didn’t show on the outside.
“Pleasure was all mine,” She smiled up at him.
Her blue eyes catching him looking down at her much like the last night he was over at her house. Seeming to once again try to memorize her face as if he was never to see her again. Her features glowed in the moonlight causing her to be even more beautiful to him.
“Why do you keep looking at me like that?”
Arms crossing over her chest as she leaned back against her car waiting for an answer.
“Because you’re beautiful,” Dustin spoke with no hesitation this time.
No longer afraid to say it, any beautiful woman deserved to know it. Eyes not leaving hers as he watched her cheeks blush at the compliment.
“Just like every other girl in this town.” She spoke, trying to play off the fact that she liked what he said to her.
“No.” Shaking his head, “Just you.”
It was only her. At the party when he first got back so many women jumped at the chance to get at him yet she was the one that ended up in his bed that night. She was the only one that caught his attention that evening as well. Danni always had this pull on him. Something he never really was able to put a finger on just knew was there and chose to ignore. Before she even really thought about it Danni let her arms down moving closer to him, leaning up pressing her lips to his all in one swift motion.
The spark that came from the touch almost sent her shooting back but Dustin had wrapped his arms around her waist lifting her from the ground so she could have a better reach. Lacing her arms around his shoulders lightly and she deepened the kiss, letting her tongue flow along with his. He wasn’t sure what was happening. Feeling her lips on his pulled him in deeper to her. Letting his hands grab her up from the ground holding her close, keeping that spark going between them.
“Down boy,” giggled Danni as she finally pulled back for some air.
Both of their breaths had increased, his more so than hers. Danni felt a happy and excited rise out of Dustin as he held her close. Her cheeks blushing at the thought that she caused that to happen. Dustin looked down as he released Danni from his arms.
Embarrassed that one steamy kiss caused such a quick reaction from him but now his heart was pumping. All those needs that got pushed buried down inside him rose to the surface. Smiling, he cupped the sides of her face with his hands leaning down kissing her again. Pinning her between him and her car.
Danni could feel her knees buckle beneath her; no man had ever kissed her like Dustin. She could feel everything in that one kiss his. The need, want, pain, excitement. It was overwhelming, causing her to push back against him but he didn’t budge. Her small frame had nothing against his. Dustin was caught up in the moment. His needs getting the best of him; it wasn’t till she bit his lip that he pulled back.
“Fuck! What was that for?” He questioned patting his lip with his finger seeing if it was bleeding.
“I need a minute.” She spoke looking at him, the look in his eyes changed.
“I can give you a minute.”
Danni felt his hand run along her hip, his lips pressing against her neck causing an unwanted moan to leave her. The moan only worked Dustin up more. His pants quickly becoming uncomfortable to him. Nodding his head to the side motioning to the backseat of her car. Oh, he wanted her.
She pushed him harder this time that he backed away from her.
“What?” He barked, getting pissed off that she kept pushing him away.
“What kind of woman do you think I am?” Her voice huffed out, “I think you need to walk home tonight.”
She was upset that he would even suggest such a thing. Danni wasn’t some girl that would get down and dirty in the backseat of her car in the parking lot where she worked. Disgusted with him she quickly got into her car and left him standing there. The corner of her eyes glossing over as tears started to well up in them. Tears she fought back while she stood in front of him.
