When I entered the room, I was blinded for a second from the neon pink that covered almost every surface. After I got adjusted, I found a spot and sat down.
“No! Not there. Sit here.” Amelia motioned to the small plastic chair in front of a table, which was set with a toy tea set. I obliged, quickly squeezing into the seat. “Would you like some tea?” Amelia asked as she sat down herself, (mind you with much less of a struggle). I nodded politely and held out my teacup for the imaginary tea to fill it. I played for what seemed like hours.
Hearing what sounded like a giggle, I sharply turned my head, only to see Shae and Andromeda in the doorway, snickering and taking pictures. I quickly stood up and walked over to Amelia’s dresser and grabbed her clothes, glaring at the two women standing in the doorway. I handed the little girl her clothes and sat down to help her get dressed.
After she was fully clothed, I grabbed a nearby tiara and placed it delicately on her head. She giggled and threw her arms around me I picked her up, careful not to crush her white fluffy wings and tail. She was an adorable Stylosa, or snow bunting. I handed the giddy little girl over to Andromeda, who still had tears in her eyes from laughing. I silently huffed and walked out of the room to get dressed in the clothes I had brought over from my house.
After I finished doing that, I made sure to grab my mask, which was drying by the fire. I put it on and was pleasantly surprised by the warmth that encompassed my face.
Looking at the time, I realized I was going to be late for work. I ran up to Andromeda, I quickly signed to her about how I should be going to work. She looked at me and told me about how I should stay home for the day, and that she was going to help out Shae in the café. I gave her a quick hug and told her I could get Amelia to school so they could get to work in time. She thanked me and went to grab Shae to tell her what was going on.
“Are you sure?” Shae looked at me and I just nodded, telling her I would be completely fine. Saying goodbye, I looked back at the time and saw I had about thirty minutes until I needed to start walking to Amelia’s school.
I realized that I should go feed Ryu, who was sleeping safely in the shed on the side of the house. I wrote on a piece of paper saying I was going outside to feed Ryu and handed It to Amelia. She sounded it out and I couldn’t help but silently freak out about how adorable it was.
“Okay Milo!” she said while giving me a big grin. I gave her a thumbs up and went outside.
