CHAPTER TWO - A new life!
~~~
In exactly six and a half hours, the plane lands at Seattle International Airport.
I have always dreamed of visiting this city and now I have succeeded. And not only I'm visiting this city, but I'll make a new life here.
At least for a while...
I get off the plane and after I'm getting my troller and the guitar back, I left the airport and I get going to Blake Northwest University. A prestigious university, where I can't really figure out how I managed to get in. The truth is, I always wanted to go to a good college and study management, but I never expected to go to Blake Northwest, even though I was accepted from the waiting lists.
I know I read something about it on the internet and I found out that it is a pretty severe university and I think in the top ten best in the United States, and I, if I have to be honest, I'm not a very good friend with the studying .
I'm not saying that I'm a dumb who have no idea how to solve some math problems, but I just don't like to study too much and I just limit myself to what I need.
As soon as I manage to stop a taxi, I get in the back seat, asking the driver to take me to Blake Northwest.
The road to the campus it's quite quiet and the only sounds which is heard are the noise produced by the engine and a rhythmic song on the radio. I'm completely immersed in another world, constantly thinking about what my new life in Seattle will be like.
Once the taxi stops in front of the university, I pay for the ride and get out of the car, heading for the entrance to the main building. I have to find the administration office to get my schedule, the dorm room key and the campus map because I don't want to get lost here from the first day.
After almost an hour, I'm in front of the dormitory build. I look at the imposing structure in front of me; a three-storey building, with a fairly simple red brick architecture and large windows, then I look at the sheets placed in a clipboard and I notice that on the first page is printed the schedule, on the sheet below are written some details about the university, and on the third sheet I also find the number of the room in which I'll stay alone, since I have not been assigned a roommate.
Well ... at least I don't have to share my room with anyone else.
I take a deep breath and grab the handle of my troller, which I pull after me toward the entrance to the building. The place is quite quiet for this hour, the atmosphere making me feel exactly like in a horror movie. However, I continue on my way and I go up the stairs to the third floor, where my room is.
I stop at the end of the stairs to calm my jerky breathing a little, then I start walking down the long corridor, pulling the troller and looking at all the doors. I stop in front of the door number two hundred forty-five and press the latch, opening the door.
"Hi!"
I startle and suddenly turn around when I feel the presence of someone behind me, breathing a sigh of relief when I see that it is just another student, who most likely have a room on this floor.
"Oh, excuse me! I didn't mean to scare you" he say, embarrassedly rubbing the top of his head.
"It's okay!"
I look at him and I can tell he's a little shorter than me. He have black hair, very curly, light green eyes and a rather thin body.
"You're in your first year, aren't you?" he ask me and I think he's pretty excited about it.
He smiles, holding out his arm to me.
"I'm Enzo, by the way"
"Leonard!" I answer, and hold out my hand.
"I'm glad to meet you," he say. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have something important to do, but I guess we'll see each other later" he adds, and after he greet me again, he walks next to me to the stairs.
Once alone again, I step into the dark room and search the on smooth surface of the wall for a light switch. The room is decorated in cool shades of black and dark brown, the way things are laid out reminds me a bit of my old room. I have a black desk on the left wall of the room, a dresser next to it and a bed for one person parallel, right next to the window, next to which is a nightstand.
I think I'll get used to the new room and this place quickly.
