Teagan
This couch was really comfortable. Perfect for story telling. "You first Marcus." I honestly wasn't ready to relive those memories from 3 months ago. "Well I was wondering. As you know I was a lone wolf. It was hard trying to find shelter and food, no one wanted to help me. Until I found this pack. I became the beta and then alpha after their very old alpha died. It is very peaceful here. I . . . I . . . " Marcus looked like he was stuck. But what was stopping him. "You what Marcus?" I asked. "I have a girlfriend named Veronica. We've shared skin." I already knew that. Something was wrong with us. I felt it every time he fucked someone, and when he was in heat. Trust me it wasn't great.
I simply nodded. "What about you?" He asked. Kain. He was what happened to me. I grinned thinking about him. "Well everything was normal until . . . Well until I met my second chance." Marcus stilled then seemed to accept it. "You're lucky. I already knew. I felt it when you two fucked." I forgot. If I could feel it so could he. "Same." Marcus grinned shyly. "Will your new mate come to pick you up." I shrugged. "It's Kain, and I don't know. I found out about his old mate and asked him about her. Apparently he killed her, but he lied to me. I don't do lies. You of all people should know that." Marcus nodded.
We sat in an awkward silence for a minute. "So. . . Do you want to stay?" Marcus asked. Stay? I echoed in my head. "Yeah, do you want to stay?" I didn't realize I had spoken out loud. But Kain. Tori whined. "I don't know. I don't want to hurt Kain by staying with you. I don't want to hurt your pack by Kain attacking it. I'm sorry." Marcus shook his head. "We can protect ourselves, just stay for the night." I shrugged. God, I was becoming a shrugger. "Just a night or two. Eventually I have to go back." I said. Marcus smiled. "Can I sleep in this cabin? It's comfortable."
"Sure. The bedroom on the left upstairs." I nodded and raced up the stairs. I might have pushed the door open a little to hard because it made a loud banging sound as it collided with the wall. The room was absolutely perfect. It was small but cozy. The bed was huge and took up most of the room. I jumped into it. As I fell back I looked up at the ceiling. Teagan, don't get attached. Tori warned. I rolled my eyes. I wouldn't get attached. Kain was my everything.
Marcus
She just showed up. At my doorstep. Teagan was mine now. This Kain wasn't going to keep her. But she left Marcus. Let her go. Mat breathed. I shook my head. Never would I ever let her go.
