Celeste ran towards the guards shouting “Drift! Drift, come back!”
The royal guards tensed up as they saw the stranger rapidly approaching.
“Halt!” They exclaimed forming a more defensive and entightened circle.
Celeste was a bit out of breath and flustered before explaining herself.
“Oh please pardon my interruption but, my bunny got away from me and ran straight your way. I’ve come for him.”
Celeste didn’t know who the guards were surrounding until a small quaint voice came from inside.
“It’s ok, you all can stand down.”
The guards moved aside to reveal a very petite, white haired, royal blue-eyed girl dolled up in a lacey, sleeveless knee length dress and platform heels to compensate for her short stature. The princess!
She walked towards me holding Drift.
“Is this your cute little bunny?” She asked while giving him a gentle scratch atop his head.
“Yes your highness,” I said as I curtsied before her.
She giggled at Celeste’s gesture, “No need to be so formal! Please call me Cirrus.”
She handed Drift back to me.
Cirrus must have felt comfortable with me because she motioned notifying the guards to relax a bit more. She then invited me to stroll around the park with her. Her guards were not too far behind following suit.
The two girls enjoyed some nice casual conversation, getting to know each other on the fine spring day. It was refreshing for Cirrus to meet someone her age who wasn’t associated with the royal family or staff. Celeste realized that her break turned from thirty minutes to over an hour and she had to be on her way back to the shop. Cirrus understood and let her be on her way, but she left the door open for them to meet again very soon.
