P O V - Avery
I'm so tired. Everything feels fuzzy... who are these people? Why am I... here?
I looked to the right and saw machinery and monitors hooked up to me. Was I dead, how long have I been out? Why are they staring at me like that?
I looked to my left and saw even more... why is there more on that si-

"She noticed it..." Jodey spoke up.
Her face went from a blank stare, then her jaw gaped open. It closed again and she used her normal arm to touch it. At first, it was a light poke, then a swipe. She gasped and instantly brought her hand to her mouth. Her eyes started to water.

I looked at the scientist and frowned. Almost a death glare. My throat still hurts... and yet I spoke anyway. It was rougher than an alligator's scales.
"Wha- d- you do- t-me?"
The scientist that was closest to me reached out for me. I slapped his hand away.
"Please, allow us to explain-"
I tried moving the robotic arm... It moved, but it's reaction was a little slow, but it will do. I tried pulling out of the wires and tubes. It was painful, but I had to do it.
I'm not supposed to be alive.
"She's taking off the supports! Quickly, sedate her!"
The scientists were now pinning me down. The one closest to me looked pained, yet he carefully poked a needle into my arm. I feel so dizzy, it's getting fuzzier again.

I awoke in a new room. It was brighter this time... it hurts my eyes a bit. Nobody is in here either. Where were the scientists? Was it a dream? I looked down at my left arm... it wasn't. I kept poking and prodding at the- my arm.
At least it was a pretty grey... soft lights shined underneath the plating. It alternated between a sea green and royal blue. The scientist have taste, but this design, it seems so familiar.
Was it... mine? I took a closer look.
It is...
The wiring and plates look so similar to my own blueprints. Wait, why do I have this arm, what happened? I need some time to think. How did I lose my arm? I started to tear up again. Whatever got me into this situation must be horrible.
A tear rolled down the right side of my face... and another soon after. I broke out into sobs and brought my hands, both of them to my face- tap!
That was strange... I moved my robotic finger again tap tap tap.
That noise could only happen if two solid objects... there's a window!
At first, I looked outside, but my eyes... eye. Focused on what was staring back in front of me. It was hideous. Is- is that me?
The left of my face was metallic. The eye slightly twitched when I kept looking at my own reflection. My hair looked patchy, the right side of it looked absolutely mangled, but intact whereas the left looked shaved. Ew.
I look so horrid, worse than the monster every kid believes is in their closet or under their bed. And my tears, they only came from my original eye... I can't feel that much from my left side. The plates contorted when my face did and moved almost fluidly with the rest of my muscles.
They turned me into my own creation. They brought me back to life. I'm supposed to be dead.
Why am I even...
Here!
Glass shattered and emitted a discordant noise. It hurt my ears, loud noises hurt so much more than it should.
"What is going on in there!" A female voice shouted from outside the door. She came in and stopped when she noticed the window broken.
"I see you've been testing out your new arm, hm?"
She gave me an awkward look. She also had- is that a Monster? I could kill for one of those right now.
"Please allow me to introduce myself, I'm Dr. Hilda, and you're inside a government lab."
Government lab? What the hell do they want with me? My throat... so dry.
"You are Avery Chronos."
I have her a funny look and a scowl. Of course I know my own name you fuck.
"Just making sure you aren't suffering from any memory loss"
Oh yeah. That was just a standard thing, I take it back.
"It's a good thing it's actually warm today... it would suck if it were a nasty storm. It would be chilly in here, don't you agre- are you okay?"
Thirsty.
"Oh, I'll get you something to drink, no wonder you won't talk, your throat is killing yo- bad phrasing- Dr. Jodey!"
Some running was heard before a man entered the room. He was tall I guess. Taller than me at least, I have to get used to my new perception, this robo-eye is making me a little looney. He's kind of a pretty boy...
"Yes Hilda?"
"Uhm, can you get Ms. Chronos some water? She's..." Hilda was interrupted by Avery's hum.
"Hmmnster" wow that was pathetic. Way to go. I pointed at Dr. Hilda, then her energy drink. God, I want one so badly.
"You want an energy drink?" Jodey? Was it Jodey? Yeah, he asked. I nodded then looked at Hilda. Ew, it feels like I'm asking for permission.
"Oh of course, but I'll bring you some water as well, we don't want you getting dehydrated"
Water sounds sooo good too... damn I'm a thirsty hoe... literally. Bet I can use my arm as one too. I snickered to myself and played with the fingers of the arm. The doctors looked confused but grabbed what was requested for me anyways.
Jodey returned with the liquids and I nodded at him as a thanks. He's adorable... Too bad I look like a shipwreck. He smiled at me and placed the two items on the table beside me. Is that a full can? Score! Thank you Jodey!
"Th-k. You"
"My pleasure!"
He backed away and stood next to Hilda.
"Anything else Hilda?"
"No that is all, you can go now"
"Oh alright... see you later. And you too Ms. Chronos! Don't forget to move her into a new room when you're done Hilda."
He took his leave... aweee~
But why a new roo- ohhhh. The window.
Dr. Hilda walked behind the hospital bed I laid upon. I looked at her for a moment before she told me that she was just transferring me over to a new room.
While wheeling me down, she explained to me what I'll be doing here for the next 6 months... rehab. Oh great. Speech, physical, mental? Oh, that makes sense, but my robotic thinking seems fine! Huh? Testing? For my robotic parts? Fine. Oh, I forgot my drinks...
I was now in the new room... Hilda smiled at me and placed- my drinks! Oh, you lifesaver! I smiled widely at her and nodded at her to show my gratitude.
Thank god, I would have died. Oh, wait I did die. I shouldn't joke about that. Who the hell cares anyway? The story police?
Haha... what?
Anyways, I looked toward the two containers on the table. I took the water first and took careful sips. It feels so nice... my throat is still being a bother, but this water taste so delectable. I then eyed the Monster. I'm going to take you down.
I grabbed it with the robotic arm, making sure I don't accidentally grip too hard. I opened it with my right hand and took a long sip. It hurt a little, but it was so worth it.
Yum.
