Diarem told his father about what happened at the entrance ceremony for his new school except he didn't mention him using magic. He was confused and he thought that because of shock he imagined using magic. In his room, Diarem tried using the same spells that he used yesterday but nothing happened. Someone knocked on the door.
“Come in!”
“Mr. Diarem breakfast is ready. Please don’t take too long. It’s your first day in a new school so you better don’t be late.” Said politely Elizabeth and then closed the door.
Diarem was looking at his hand as he was walking down the stairs. He couldn't shake this weird feeling out of his head. He was so distracted that he almost fell down the stairs but luckily he grabbed the handrail.
In Diarem’s home, there are two dining rooms. One big enough for 32 people and smaller for 12 people. The smaller dining room is in the same room as the kitchen but it’s separated by a kitchen peninsula in the shape of “L”.
When he entered the small dining room he was greeted by energetic red-haired cook Helen. Diarem sat and ate a satisfying meal that Helen prepared. Her meals were the only thing that made him happy in his old school days. Or maybe he just enjoys food.
His first lesson in his new school would be P.E. which he hated the most. Not only he didn't have magic but even when they played games without magic many kids still used them just to win.
“What a good beginning… starting with P.E. as magicle… maybe not magicless. I did use magic yesterday but how?” Thought Diarem as he was standing in front of the sentence to school. Diarem bumped into the girl with blue clothes that he rescued yesterday.
“Hi. How are you today?” Asked Diarem
“Good… thank you for rescuing us, oh I didn’t tell you my name? I’m Jasmine.” Answered girl
“Nice to meet you. My name is Diarem. Where is Charlotte? You’re friends right?”
Jasmine smiled and giggled a little bit. At the same time, Diarem got kicked by someone. When he bent down because of pain he noticed Charlotte in front of her.
“We’ll be going. See you!” Said Jasmine.
“See you...” responded Diarem when he grabbed his leg where Charlotte kicked him.
Before warming up the teacher said that because in their class there are 11 magicless kids and 15 magicians they will be playing separately two games. Magicless would be playing volleyball and a magician would play magic ball. Diarem was registered as a non-magician so he would be playing volleyball.
Diarem for the whole warm-up was thinking about how he used magic. All he could remember about him using magic was using the same spell as the guys that attacked him. Then one idea came to his mind.
“Maybe I can use magic that is used at me? First I need to test it because I might be wrong. I ask girls if they are magicians.”
Diarem approached Jasmine and Charlotte and asked "You can use magic right?"
“Why do you ask?” Asked Jasmine.
“Well I want to use magic again but I think that first, someone needs to use it on me.” As Diarem said that Charlotte looked at him with a scary smile and created a black ball in her hand.
“Maybe I’ll ask someone else...” Said Diarem, scared of Charlotte and he slowly walks away from them. He was hit in the back by Charlotte. As Diarem was falling to the ground he felt something weird again. It was time to test it in front of the teacher.
“Teacher, can I play magic ball?”
“What's your name?”
“Diarem sir.”
“But you’re on a magicless list.”
Diarem created the same dark ball that Charlotte made. At first, the teacher looked surprised because people show signs of magic when they are six years old or older but then he remembered that some people develop much later.
"Sure... Just go check your magic in the hospital. We need more information about it."
