Once the date was set days started to pass by quickly. The kingdom enthused. Princess Cirrus spent a day out with Celeste at the tailors to pick out and get fitted for her dresses for the big day fast approaching.
She was greeted by the owner and her employees who were obviously notified of Princess’ appearance today. No customers in sight. The boutique was filled with a plethora of gowns in different sizes, fabrics, cuts and colors. A feast for the Princess’ eyes as price was not an issue. Everything was fair game.
She decided to look for a ball gown, something to make a statement. She immediately was drawn to a sunset-like gown. She gathered it up to go try on before Celeste, who was mesmerized by all the gowns herself, could notice.
She unsteadily walked out looking for Celeste. Feeling unstable, she stopped and called for her friend to come over.
“What do you think of this one? Honest opinion?” Cirrus asked.
Celeste couldn’t help but noticed the inches upon inches of colored fabric and layers engulfing her friend’s petite stature.
“It’s gorgeous and the bodice fits perfectly but, isn’t that too much dress for you to walk in?”
“Not at all!” Cirrus was adamant in her decision.
“Hmm...Then show me you can walk in it.” Celeste challenged, crossing her arms.
Cirrus took a few wobbly steps forward before ultimately collapsing to the floor under the weight of the dress. Celeste giggled at her plunder.
Cirrus flushed with embarrassment pouted under her breath, “Guess you were right.”
The shop owner and employees heard the thud and rushed over to the Princess’ aid.
“My dear are you okay?!” she profusely apologized while his employees helped up.
“I’m fine but could you possibly alter the length of this dress? This is the one.”
“Most certainly, Princess Cirrus. Just come with me and we’ll get everything taken care of.”
Celeste just watched as Cirrus was swept away to the back. “Eh, I guess I’ll just wait out here.”
