“If you could all kindly put your silly squabbles away, I believe it is my turn.” Duenna said calmly.

“I’d like that.” Ruby said and Agony grinned teasingly at Thesis.

“I’m for that too!” Motif announced.

“Fine.” Thesis grumbled. Then Sequel let his head drop and pulled himself a bit tighter around his book. He started to breath a little more heavily.

“Is he alright?” Ruby asked, surprised.

“Oh yeah, he does this sometimes. Don’t worry about it.” Motif said, placing a hand on Sequel’s shoulder. “G’head, Duenna.”

“I shall,” Duenna began, “I had always wanted children, but I could never find a man who wanted to marry me and have them.”

“Gee, I wonder why…” Agony mumbled. Duenna glared at her, but continued.

“But even though I could not have any of my own, I still wished to love and help children.”

“And by love and help, you mean indoctrinate and scar, am I correct?” Thesis jabbed.

“Stop it! Both of you!” Duenna pointed her scarred and dirty finger at Agony and Thesis.

“Hey, at least they’re agreeing on something for once.” Motif said, “Go on and keep going, Duenna.”

“Thank you,” Duenna said curtly. “I will continue. I wanted to work with children, so for a while I was a nanny. However, families never kept me in their employment for very long.”

          “They axed ya.” Agony said.

“For pushing your backwards values on their kids.” Motif continued.

“And causing irreversible damage to said kids future relationships and prospects.” Thesis finished. Agony puffed from her cigarette.

“Most certainly not!” Duenna asserted, “I was simply not a good fit for their families! That is all!” She then turned to glare at Motif. “And I thought you were arguing for me!” She huffed.

“I can change my mind whenever I want!” Motif crossed his arms. Sequel flinched a little.

“Being a nanny was clearly not working out.” Duenna continued, crossly, “So I moved on to being a teacher.”

“So you could screw up tons of kids!” Agony smiled, Motif laughed and even Thesis chuckled in spite of himself.
