Mason's mother wiped a lone tear that managed to escape the confines of her eyelids, before continuing, "It was when you were 3 months old. Barely looking around, you were a quiet baby. Never crying, keeping to yourself. But that day, something must've made my prince unhappy, you were bawling your eyes out. I was in the bathroom, my mistake. I thought your dad would handle you, he loved you. He did manage to calm you down despite his tiredness. "I still hear our screams filled with his words and my cries. His 'What else do you do besides taking care of a child? Can't you handle a simple thing?' or his degrading words mocking me, humiliating me that I'm still too scared to recall, all of them haunt me till date. The secret abuse happened till you were 7 years old. I tried several times to fight back, but he convinced me with his sweet words and claims that he would change. Also, he had never raised his hands on you. You were the most oblivious. As long as he didn't harm you, it was enough for me. I thought I would remain contented with this."
