“Why did you introduce me like that?” The child-like face glared at Ceres as the short man that the face belonged to grumbled. Ceres knew Saturn hated to be mistaken for a child, yet he was the one who barged in during the filming.
“You put me on the spot…” Ceres started to munch on the salad that Saturn had brought for her. “You... promised... not to... visit me during filming.” Ceres knew she shouldn’t talk while eating, but her stomach was growling. She was mortal after all, and all mortals needed to eat.
“Well, you were the one who kept sending text messages in between every single take to complain that you were hungry. You could have introduced me as your friend.”
“You know everyone would just assume I was covering up a scandal. Why would I be friends with a random child, and how would said child get access to this film studio? Everyone would automatically assume that I had a hidden child that I had brought to work with me. What’s wrong with being my nephew?” Ceres internally apologized to her sister, yet again, for lying about her being Saturn’s mother.
“What is wrong? What is WRONG? The fact that I’m not a child! How would you feel if someone younger than you constantly introduced you as a child? It’s not my fault I have been cursed to look like this… I don’t know what god I angered to end up to be trapped in time as a child, but when I find out, I’m going to murder them…” Saturn started on his endless rant about looking like a kid even though he was a full grown adult. Ceres just started to zone him out, he always did this every time she saw him. He never changed.
“Well anyways…” Ceres stood up now that her stomach had its fill. “My lunch break is almost over, so I have to get to work. I ask you again not to watch me at work, I don’t want my coworkers to get distracted by your adorable looks.” Ceres chuckled and walked away quickly before he could respond.
She had a little bit of spite in her for everyone suddenly stopping work to surround Saturn earlier when they had noticed him come in. Sure he was good looking, but only as much as a kid could look. She just wished his looks didn’t compromise her job with scandals every time he came looking for her. He had his own job to do, so why did he always try to interrupt hers?
Speaking of jobs… She had arrived at the set where she was filming a commercial for a gardening company. Her father’s company specifically.
He had always wanted her to take over a large portion of the company, even naming her after an ancient goddess, but she wanted at least a little bit of freedom before having to participate in the family business. So she became an actress. The only way her father would allow it would be if she signed a five year contract to be in all of the commercials for his company. Obviously, she had agreed.
No one outside of his closest aides even knew she was the CEO’s daughter since he had always been a shadow CEO working behind the scenes. This led to hearing all of the rumors about him though. She could swear they got crazier by the day. The latest one she heard was that he had already died, and the shareholders would fight over who would take over if they found out. So his death had been covered up. My father is very much alive, thank you very much. Even if sometimes I wish he would just die already… Ceres tolerated her father, but if anyone asked, she would admit he was the type that could go overboard at times.
Ceres rolled her eyes as she thought about him, then decided to table her thoughts until after the shoot. Who wanted to be constantly thinking about their father?

“So how was work?” Saturn was leaning against the exit doorway, obviously waiting to ambush Ceres on her way out.
“You’re still here? Did you forget you have your own job to do?” Ceres snarkily responded.
“I did not forget, I just don’t need to be there for another hour and I figured you could give me a ride since it is on your way to your next location.”
“I’m not even going to ask how you already have my schedule for the day…” Ceres sighed. “Fine, I can bring you to the office. Not like you can drive yourself, you would get pulled over immediately. ‘Where are your parents, little boy? You know you are still too young to drive such a large car by yourself.’” Ceres mocked Saturn by impersonating how the police would respond to seeing him drive. Ceres could see Saturn slowly growing angry, but he said nothing for once. He must have gotten some bad news from work while she was filming the rest of the commercial. Especially since he was asking for a ride to the office. “Aw, come on, you know I’m just messing with you. Come on, let’s go.” Ceres wasn’t used to not getting a comeback to her purposeful teasing, and she didn’t know how to respond outside of trying to move them along.

Ceres was exhausted after filming her last job of the day. So she was surprisingly glad to see Saturn waiting by her car when she got out of work. She threw him the keys then laid down in the back seat and wrapped herself in a blanket she kept there.
“I drove you earlier, so it’s your turn to drive.” She mumbled from her blanket cocoon. She heard him agree and then adjust the driver’s seat so he could actually reach the petals. For all the crap she gave him earlier about driving, she knew that he was actually a good driver. He just didn’t like the weird looks other drivers gave him when he did drive, so he didn’t drive much. Feeling secure, she slowly drifted off.
She didn’t get to sleep long though, and was awoken by two voices from ahead of her.
“I told you, I’m not a child.”
“Sure you’re not. Give me your ID then.” Ceres heard some rustling from the front seat, then the second voice spoke up again. “There is no way this is a real ID.”
“Go run it then.” Saturn responded very smugly.
After she heard a pair of footsteps fade away from outside the car, Ceres started to chuckle.
Saturn angrily snipped at Ceres. “What’s so funny?”
“It’s… It’s just…” She couldn’t stop chuckling from within the blankets. “Exactly what I said earlier happened… You really got pulled over.”
Saturn grumbling from the driver’s seat, but didn’t have a real comeback to what she had pointed out. After a few minutes Ceres heard the officer’s footsteps return.
“I-I’m so sorry sir.” Ceres glanced out from her blanket cocoon to see what type of face the police officer had. He looked so embarrassed as he was handing Saturn’s driver’s license. She felt bad for the guy, and knew he meant no harm, but at the same time, now she was going to have to listen to Saturn’s complaining for the rest of the car ride home.

Ceres plopped down on her bed, not even glancing at the neatly folded clothes that the housekeeper her father hired had put on the desk. It had been a long day with the only actual eventful part being when she got to witness Saturn getting pulled over for looking like a child stealing his parent’s car. She rolled over to her back when she heard her text notifications starting to go off. Glancing at it, she saw that it was her father. She ignored it when she saw it was just him checking in, multiple times, to make sure she had gotten to her apartment safely. You literally live right above me… You obviously know I got home safe. Instead of responding via text she got up and went to the window.
Opening the window she yelled up to him. “Leave me alone, I’m fine!” To that she got a large mass of text messages telling her not to be rude to her father, and then checking to see if she had eaten yet or put away her clothes since it was laundry day, and so on. She knew it was just revenge for things like dismissing him earlier in the day and being rude whenever he had tried to check in with her. A few of the messages even mentioned that he knew she was just being a rebellious teenager, but she should still do what she’s told. I’m a full grown adult just like you Father...
Ceres threw her phone, which was still going off with new messages, onto her bed before going to the kitchen to find what the housekeeper had made for dinner. Her father was right after all when he assumed she hadn’t eaten yet. After she ate she came back to her phone still getting text messages from him, but at a slower rate. After she put away the clothes, she picked up the phone and sat at her desk to read the messages.
Her father had moved on from complaining about her, and trying to control every aspect of her daily life minute by minute, and on to the topic of work at his company. He was complimenting her on how much business had grown since she started appearing in the commercials, but was also complaining that some of the people that worked for his company didn’t know how to do their jobs, so they weren’t fulfilling orders fast enough for his ideal rate of production. He also complained that it sometimes felt like the people below him were planning a coup.
Ceres sighed and put the phone down. Anything that she would try to respond back with would just end up encouraging him to complain more. She had tried before to insert her two cents, but had ended up getting him going even more. So now she would just ignore him during any of his endless rants about life. He never changes after all. When she finally looked down again, she saw that he was complaining about his favorite thing to complain about again.
After a while she finally just got fed up and scrolled through her contacts and dialed the number marked as “Saturn”.
As soon as the line connected her to the person on the other end, she snapped at him. “I don’t care if you think it is unfair your time stopped even though you are supposed to be the god of time. Stop complaining about it since some of us are just plain mortals. While we are at it, stop stalking me at work Dad! Do you know how embarrassing it is to have a parent constantly interrupting work? Especially when everyone thinks they are the child and you are the adult? You’re so annoying!” She immediately hung up, turned off her phone, and went to bed.
