【"How】 did you think you did Alex?" I questioned.
Alex let out a slight chuckle.
"You can catch me in the Brat house!" She winked.
"Oh please. I'm sure you didn't do that bad. At least not as bad as I did. I --"
"She practically failed! The evaluator had to force her to execute the tasks. She didn't even have the guts to finish it." Ivan abruptly butted in laughing.
"How stupid are you Wolfe?" He grabbed me by my shirt.
"In this academy, it's either kill, or be killed. You're one lucky fuck that someone like you got accepted into this prestigious institute. The nerve you got for not even showing an ounce of wanting to be here. If you don't want to be here, then you can get the fuck out!"
Alex immediately stood up ready to bitch slap him across the face and beat his ass.
"Thanks girl, but I got this." I slyly smiled at her.
I grabbed him by the upper arms throwing him over my shoulders then I slammed him to the ground.
"Say that to my face again. I dare you." I hissed.
I felt my eyes flicker as I grit my teeth staring him dead in the eyes."
"You're a worthless piece of sh–"
Adrenaline and overwhelming strength flowed through my veins as I slammed him down on the desk next to Alex. I grabbed the back of his shirt and tossed him to the side. I watched as I saw his body tumbling down the aisle to the front of the lecture hall. He landed face first hitting his head on the side of the professor's table.
I leered arching my eyebrows feeling accomplished. I was about to open my mouth, but caught the glaring and entertained eyes of the professors.
Oops... I grimaced. Chestnut grabbed Ivan by the scruff lifting him with one hand in front of the whole hall.
"What's your name boy?" He demanded in a menacing tone.
"I- Ivan Irisson sir."
"What an embarrassment. Having your ass handed to you by a mere girl?" He tossed Ivan to the side with a swift motion of his arm.
"Get out of my sight brat." There was a huge bump on his forehead and a stream of blood gushing out of his nose.
"Good afternoon. I am professor Ashton Marcel Macawili Martínez and this is Professor Seth Orcus. We will be announcing your test results."
"I'm surprised, yet not surprised about these poor results and performances." Orcus interrupted as he threw the stack of papers to the side.
"By the look of these papers, I'm fairly disappointed in the lack of effort you put in. This is probably one of the worst classes I've seen so far.
"The following names have been placed in the Brats house. Andrew Garcia, Felix Agust, Sharon Ng, Melissa Ramos, Ling Ling Huang, Charlotte Connor..."
Scarlet yawned as the list went on. She kept her head down on the desk closing her eyes for what felt like a few seconds."
"...Rose Valentine, Marauders. Alex Hayes, Marauders. Ivan Irisson Marauders..."
I turned my head and threw a punch at Alex's shoulder.
"Congrats! I'm so proud. Told ya, you couldn't have done as bad as I did. I didn't even place." I grinned at her.
"Sebastian Lykaios, Tenebris, Sarah Evan, Tenebris. Mason Vasili, Tenebris, Scarlet Wolfe, Tenebris..."
Alex elbowed me in the rib.
"Now who said that they didn't place again?" She teased.
"That concludes today's results. There will be further information once you settle down. Congratulations to those who've placed in Marauders and Tenebris. Better luck next time to those who didn't .
"𝕴𝖓 t𝖊𝖓𝖊𝖇𝖗𝖎𝖘, 𝖊𝖙 𝖘𝖊𝖗𝖛𝖎𝖊𝖒𝖚𝖘 𝖙𝖎𝖇𝖎" {In the dark, they will serve you}
Scarlet stuffed her belongings and clothes in her duffel. She inhaled a breathful of air taking in the fresh fall aroma and headed towards the Wellshade building.
"Scarlet Wolfe?"
"That's me."
"Please have a seat until you're called for your room assignment." The desk lady gestured to the waiting area."
----
I caught myself wandering around the third floor of Wellshade library. The room was packed filled with an endless galore of books. There was an aisle of books that caught my attention. As I ran my fingers through the side cover of the books, I found one that emitted a soft bright light.
No title? I flipped through the blank pages viewing it in all different angles.
"What a joke." I threw the book back in its place and walked away. To my surprise, something whizzed passed so fast, it hit me square in the face. I snapped my head back,
"Who the fu-" The same book thudded on the floor. A gust of wind twirled in the air flipped through the pages. I crunched my eyebrows together tracing the small inscription that appeared.
"A𝖓𝖙𝖎𝖖𝖚𝖔𝖗𝖚𝖒" {The Ancient}
My line of vision started getting fuzzy. The room started spinning. Everything around me started to fade into darkness. I was in a pitch black setting. Images started flashing through my mind as strange pictures, inscriptions, and writing appeared all over the walls. There was a lion head with roses and vines intertwined together and below it read:
W𝔥𝔦𝔰𝔭𝔢𝔯𝔰 𝔬𝔣 𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔴𝔦𝔫d 𝔰𝔞y,
I𝔫 𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔬𝔴𝔰 𝔱𝔥𝔢y 𝔴𝔞𝔩k, 𝔞𝔫𝔡 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔬𝔴𝔰 𝔱𝔥𝔢y 𝔥𝔦d𝔢.

T𝔥𝔢y'𝔯𝔢 𝔯𝔢𝔞dy 𝔱𝔬 𝔰𝔱𝔯𝔦k𝔢.

I turned my head examining the other parts of the wall.
T𝖍𝖊 d𝖆y 𝖆 𝖗𝖊𝖉 𝖈𝖍𝖎𝖑d 𝖎𝖘 𝖇𝖔𝖗𝖓, 𝖆 𝖈𝖔𝖓𝖙𝖗𝖆𝖈𝖙 𝖘𝖍𝖆𝖑𝖑 𝖒𝖆𝖗k 𝖆𝖓 𝖊𝖗𝖆 𝖔𝖋 𝖘𝖔𝖗𝖗𝖔𝖜

Strange, why does this feel incomplete? I questioned.
Suddenly, Scarlet's eyes widened.
"What the hell--" She immediately collapsed to the floor.
It seemed like a hot iron was being pressed against my back. It felt like my body was being engulfed by flames. Excruciating pain coursed through me as I started rolling on the floor crying out helplessly. What felt like hours of grueling pain, a figure fuzzily came out of the corner and peered down at me.
"Well. Well. Well. What do we have here? Wasn't all surprised that you wound up here. I knew that you were eventually going to find this room." He spoke.
He knelt down beside me and pressed his finger against my shoulder. He began outlining some sort of symbol.
The pain started subsiding. I continued laying there bewildered.
"Professor Martini, I–" I stuttered, not being able to formulate my words.
"I'm sure you have a lot of questions... It's tough to explain, but I'm sure you're wondering what The Ancients are. They were the original ancestors of the assassins. They were feared by everyone. They were the elite and all powerful beings that possessed many unique traits, skills, and mysterious abilities that no other assassin would possess that other organizations are dying to get their hands on. Supposedly, rumor has it that supposedly not many Ancients are around anymore because many have been hunted down for their DNA."
I narrowed my eyes, not being able to formulate any words.
"Then what's the stuff on the walls?" I motioned.
"Well aren't you a curious one." He joked.
"Well no shit Professor Martini."
The professor cleared his throat. "It's Martínez."
"Anywho, I'm sure all your answers will be answered whether it'd be directly or indirectly. I'm running on a tight schedule and there are things I got to tend to. Hope to see you again Ms. Wolfe. It's nice to see you're doing fine."
"Ciao." He waved and snapped his fingers. I blinked once and found myself back at the library.
"Ms. Scarlet Wolfe, please report to the main desk."
"Your room assignment is 600A. No need to be alarmed. All your personal belongings have been taken cared of."
I stood there blankly staring at the lady. Huh? When did they take my stuff?
On my way to the room, there were a hoard of people in different groups whispering amongst themselves. I scanned the crowd of people and found some glares and devious looks from a handful of them.
"Good luck. You're gonna need it." A guy patted me on the back.
"Watch your back." A couple of girls smirked as they purposely bumped into me.
I rolled my eyes ignoring them.
Your new partner has already been decided. The result of your strengths, weaknesses, reflexes, skills, physical aptitude, and others have been closely reviewed... Echoed throughout my mind. A smug smile appeared as I confidently continued forth.
