Kuro was walking the busy, busy streets of Tokyo to the market. Before he left the house, he donned charcoal skinny jeans and a garnet-and-black dashiki. He had black Skullcandys in his ear; they were blaring 'Two Glocks' by GRAVEDGR. He thought to himself, 'That was nice for Alfred to fix me food and care for me after my parents' death. He wants to fix me gyoza, one of my favourite dishes.'
He saw a black-haired, fair skinned, green-eyed girl with a black shawl and skinny jeans that match him. She looked timid. "H-Hi..."
"Hi..." Kuro replied, taking his buds out. There was an awkward silence betwixt the two. She finally asked, "Do you know w-where the nearest Walmart is?"
"That's where I'm going. Wanna walk with me?"
"Sure," she obliged. She followed Kuro to Walmart. "I'm Taiga -- Taiga Ortaga."
"Kuro," he introduced himself in a stoic tone. "I'm Kuro Ganetto-Kōdōra. I'm 17 years old."
"That's a neat name, Kuro. So which school are you going to?"
"Going to Totsuki International School. I finish my senior year there."
"So do I. I just started because public school wasn't working out. My father wanted higher education for me. That way, I can be successful."
"Hmph. I see. I wish I had my dad still."
She looked very concerned. "W-What happened?"
"Why would you wanna know? You might use it against me like all the others my age in my life."
"No I wouldn't. I understand where you were coming from, Kuro. I lost a parent myself: my mother. It was very hard for me!"
He sighed, stopped, and turned around. "I see... I lost both of my parents at 7. They were shot by some scum of the Earth -- just when I though people like that only existed in superhero movies. The good thing is he died in prison, so karma does exist. Sure, they left me with their riches, but... I still want them back. The death changed my perspective on the world..." He put some flour in the cart "Happy?" he ended sternly.
"N-No... I'm really not... That was eye-opening, nonetheless... I lost my mother to a car wreck..."
He apologized, "I'm sorry to hear that. Wanna grab a drink after we get the groceries?"
She perked up. "Sure... Eh - I mean. Sure."
Fast forward to 5 minutes later, the two end up at Walmart. "My butler/caretaker's fixing me gyoza for back-to-school dinner, among other things. I need to pick up flour and ground beef. He has everything else. Where do you need to go?"
"Uhhh...I'm just going with you," Taiga laughed sheepishly.
Kuro sighed and groaned, "Fine."
Taiga, with timidity followed. "S-So...uh... You like to cook?"
"Yeah. I only do so when Alfred isn't around. Alfred's my butler/caretaker, as I stated. I can only do simple meals."
"I cook for myself at home. My mom taught me before she died."
Kuro was listening to her whilst putting ingredients for the gyoza in the bag. "Let's seeeeee... 6¥ for 4 pounds of ground beef. I'll take it!" He put the meat in the bag.
Fast forward to 20 minutes later, the two were out of the Walmart and at a Starbucks. Kuro asked, "So...uh...do you wanna hang out sometime after school? Maybe see a movie? Eat ramen?"
Taiga smiled brightly. "Sure." She turned and left. But before then, she said to Kuro, "Thanks for accompanying me at Walmart!"
Kuro turned back around. "You're welcome!" The two went on their separate ways. He thought to himself, 'She seems pretty cool... Then again, she might flake out on me like the bitches I was with. We'll see.'
Taiga thought, 'Maybe Kuro isn't a bad guy after all? Then again, he might be like other sorry bastards that came on to me. We'll see.'
