"...No, I wasn't awake the time yet." I scroll more to read Ayano's other messages. "She's really loud in person, and even her messages are loud."

Okay, so maybe you're actually not awake yet, but of course, I'll still leave my messages! HAHAHA!

Oh... I totally forgot about that.

Ayano and I took our entrance exams to Yasutake High for about three months ago. After the long wait, we're finally going to school in three days.

I honestly don't know how I should feel about this. Beginning my first year in a senior high school that's rumored to be an academic powerhouse... it sounds so... nerve-wracking. Who knows how much schoolwork we'll have to deal with once we get there..? I'm getting nervous just by thinking about it. In addition to that, we wouldn't have a lot of time to do the things we want to do unlike now. So basically, that means I wouldn't be able to read books that much when school starts. I guess I've got to enjoy this moment while I still can.

...But hey. Since Yasutake High has been said to be such a powerhouse when it comes to academics, I was really happy when I found out that I passed. Ayano was overjoyed, too. It proves that we're actually smarter than we think we are, if that even makes sense.

Anyways, let's go back to reading her messages.

"Well, I don't." I jest and chuckle. "...If Ayano was here right now and she heard me say that, she would've already bonked my head and called me a meanie or something." I scroll further as I continue reading her messages.

"...Well that was a rollercoaster. She sure texts a lot." I type up a reply to her messages. "Mhm... it's already past eleven thirty o'clock, and she said she'd be here when it's almost noon, so she'll probably be here any minute now."

I stop typing, and I read my message aloud.

"Okay, then. I'll see ya." I look up, giving it a thought for some seconds. "...Let me add an emoticon."

"Yeah... that's better. It's perfect." I click the send button, and I see my message sending. 

Anyhow... Ayano's coming over, huh. It's been a month since she last came over. Well, we do message each other a lot through TapMessage, so I don't really miss her. I mean, I want to talk to her in person too, but I won't say I exactly miss her, since we talk to each other a lot through online messaging. And like she said, our houses are literally just ten minutes apart. It's probably because talking to each other in person rather than talking to each other through messages has a more... different feel, I guess.

I stand up from my bed and I proceed to go back downstairs, bringing my phone with me.

Reaching the living room, I see Miyo sitting down on the couch, munching on a toast that Mom had probably made for her after she asked a while ago. She's holding the remote, watching a show in the television.

I walk up to the couch, and I sit beside Miyo.

"Where's Mom?" I look at her as she continues chewing on her buttered toast.

"She's in the kitchen, munch, and she's washing the, munch, dishes. I think she's also, munch, going to clean the, munch, toaster."

"Look at who's talking while eating now." I jokingly tease Miyo, and she looks at me with a moue on her face.

"...Hmph, you're an idiot." 

Wow. So defiant. She probably doesn't know that there are crumbs all over her mouth. 

I flick her forehead. "Don't call your big sister an idiot, idiot."

"Oww! Hey, that hurt!" Miyo reaches her hand out, trying to flick my forehead in return. I hold her hand, making her unable to even reach my forehead. 

Ha, chance! 

I lean for the toast she's been holding in her other hand, and I take a big bite into it. Taking a quick bite into Miyo's toast, I let go of her. She looks at me with a huge gasp, and I smile at her while chewing.

"That's payback for calling me an idiot, and for eating my toasts four times this week."

"...You meanie! Idiot! Stupid! Dummy! Why!? Just why!?" I laugh at her as she continues grumbling.

Our doorbell rang, and it's probably none other than Ayano.

"...Is that Aya-san?" 

"Yeah, it's probably her."

I stand up from the couch and I walk towards the door. I quickly open it.

"Hey, Ayano. I—"

"YUMI-CHAN~~~!" Ayano jumps and clings at me as if there's no tomorrow.

"...Hey, you're... squeezing... me..."

"I missed you~~!"

"...I didn't."

...

...Ouch.

I rub my head.

"Yumi-chan, you should really stop acting mean!"
