Something smells fishy. And I’m not talking about the tuna sandwich Marco just made for me.

When he first arrived here, I got this strange feeling just before Mira opened the door. It was like cold water dripping from my neck all the way down my spine. Then I heard a whisper, saying “Don’t open it.”, but I ignored it and hid behind Mira instead. As the door opened and I saw him, I had the strangest urge to hiss at him. 

That was the second time that’s ever happened before. The first was right before I entered the room Tech was in when we were back in our world, just before Mr Gander made her attack us. Just before my neck hurt. Just before I died. I have no idea what this means but I think I have a theory, and it doesn’t turn out well.

After “By” left to find the others, I quickly headed back to my room (aka the lab) and kept reading the comic books that the guy in Red and Black gave me. He was nice and told me to call him Wade. Anyway, when I continued reading I came across this other guy with animal like powers, just like me. And one of his powers was “Spidey-Sense” which gave him a tingling warning whenever something was about to hurt him. Do I maybe have the same thing?? Am I Catgirl? I do remember hearing once from Daddy that animals’ senses are much sharper than humans and know when something is about to occur, like an earthquake. Since I’m part animal, do I have those same instincts?

After I came up with that theory, I realised that something was off with the man who visited us, that he might hurt us. But I’m not sure, I may be smart but I’m still very little. So for now, I’m just going to stay around Tech and Marco, just until I’m sure.

But I’m scared. Very scared. Because whenever I’m in a room with him nearby or when I feel him watching me at night, all I can feel is that cold warning sense and all I smell is his breath. It’s smells like old, rotting flesh. I think that’s what death smells like. Or maybe it smells like the necklace he wears? That has a bad smell too. The other pets agree with me on that.

So I’m really hoping I’m wrong about all this but, if it turns out I’m right, at least I’m prepared. Bill gave me that knife I keep in my pocket and Tech made me a device that makes a really bright light appear and blind the person who sees it. If this guy thinks he can hurt me and my family, he’d better watch out.

Cat’s have claws for a reason.
